| It really depends on which program you're using. In my program, you can select a transparent background, draw your decal, and then save it as a .png file. |

Paint.net
-go to move selected pixels
-go to the top left corner
-drag to the bottom right corner
-if you see the whole picture as checkers, you did it right
[or just erase all the white] |

paint.net take the magic wand press the areas you want transparent when the checkers pop up you did it right! |
