Why? 1. The battery of an electric car costs can be up to $10k, when a regular car battery about $300. 2. Electric cars tend to be small and not very fast since electric car technology isn't very advanced.
It'll be a long time before electric car technology will make sense AND work just as well as normal cars |

| Yes, but if you think about it, 10k not even yearly can be a great discount of buying gas for 60 bucks once a week. |

@Lam You have to charge the car up when it runs out of juice The battery is there to move the car when it is CHARGED Which adds on the cost of the electric bill And not all places, especially when you are traveling, have a place where you can charge your car And spending $60 a weeek for 52 weeks (A year) = $3120 a year And even if you spent $100, that would still only be $5200 a year. |

3. The way energy is made is by the burning of fossil fuels anyway
4. These cars are heavier and thus less powerful and require more power to run
5. It takes up to a day to charge a car battery
6. The range is usually terrible
"Yes, but if you think about it, 10k not even yearly can be a great discount of buying gas for 60 bucks once a week."
52 weeks in a year
52 x 60 = $3120
Even if the battery lasted 2 or 3 years it would be a bad investment |

7. The "performance" electricity cars don't make a very satisfying noise when you put your foot down
8. The increased weight from the batteries means that the handling isn't going to be very satisfying |

"The Model S Signature model with a 85 kWh pack rated by EPA has a top speed of 125 mph (201 km/h) and accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds.[6] The Model S Signature Performance model has a top speed of 130 mph (210 km/h) and accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds, while the base 60 kW·h battery model has a top speed of 120 mph (190 km/h) and accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds."
I call BS nyan
"The Model S is offered with two battery packs: a base model with a 60 kW·h battery expected to deliver 230 miles (370 km) and a 85 kW·h battery expected to deliver 300 miles (480 km)"
That's not very far at all |
