Zenimax Online Studios has now confirmed that they will use a monthly payment system for Elder Scrolls Online. Their reasoning was that the Elder Scrolls games gives the players a lot of freedom, and they thought an in-game store, premium things and such would take this freedom away.
They also confirmed the price: $14.99/€12.99/£8.99
Personally, I both think this is good and bad. The good thing about this is that they get money so they can improve the game a lot more. If it also gives the player more freedom, it's great. The only downside of this is that you have to pay. Yes it's not a big deal, but I think it's time for me to get a job... Personally, I know I can afford this. But then again, I live in a rich country. I know that not everyone has the same amount of money in this world.
I want to hear your opinions about this, so I can find out what the Internet thinks. |

| this is a stupid business model that will inevitably kill the game. |

| I will still buy it, but I doubt I'll be playing it for as long as I predicted, now that this model was announced. The game looks great compared to other MMOs, in my opinion. But even that cannot save ESO from what they just did. People will gradually stop playing it/never play it. |

lol at people whining about $15 a month, this is exactly what every decent MMO does.
this will ultimately mean a larger fanbase. the thing is, most people who wanted to play the game anyway will fork over $15 a month. it's not much, but seeing as how they're probably dumb enough to feed into bethesda's marketing they'll be dumb enough to not know when to stop
what is my point?
by the time the average casual player gets bored of the game, they'll have already spent at least $60 on the game.
"meh, $15 a month isn't THAT much. just one more month" "holy crap i've spent so much money on this game, it can't hurt to continue at this point, i guess" |

@Crome, I saw a link to a page on their Facebook page.
@Altair, You are correct that most decent MMOs does this. Might just be that I'm spoiled by GW 2. And anyways, ESO looks like it's worth every penny. If I don't like it, I'll just stop playing after the first month has passed. This goes for everyone else. Plus, if you don't like it, you haven't lost that much money yet. |

that model really angers me like you buy a 50 dollar game you go to play it and it's like GIVE US MORE MONEY seriously most people will only be there for 3-6 months and in that time they can make the game cost more then double what it should
The Nintendo Entertainment system your Parents HELP you HOOK it up |

You mean the "Pay for PvP" thingy? I guess that's an ok one. I wouldn't go to the PvP before I had reached the level cap and spent the skill points in the skill trees I wanted to put them in.
In the PvP, you will get buffed to lvl 50 stats if you're under lvl 50, but you won't gain these skill points, meaning that people who have played PvE until they got to lvl 50 will most likely still have an advantage. |

| I know I won't be able to get this. My dad blows money on other stuff for me, but when it comes to online transactions, he almost never gives me 10 bucks to use. |
