Of course, the crimes committed by the Iraqi government will go unnoticed. The connections to terrorism, ethnic cleansing, and aggressive militarism of the Iraqis never existed. What the US did was terrible. The people responsible should be punished. But Saddam was a madman and needed to go. |

You should read of Saddam's treatment for other minorities too and his ethnic cleansing of Assyrians and other non-Arabs. I've mentioned this before, but Hitlol was also good for his nation. |

| The actions of the foreign powers were terrible. I've said before they should be charged with war crimes. But Saddam went to war with Kuwait and Iran for little or no reasons. He was responsible for the death of thousands of innocent people and oppressed minorities and had links with terrorism. The Western and regional forces had every right to view him as a threat. If you're going to ignore all this and respond with one of your short answers, you're probably just a troll. |

Yes, because Kuwait was producing more oil than Iraq. Why not attack them to stop them from committing just a heinous crime?

He went to war with Iran because he was worried that there would be a Shia revolution? Should all countries go to war against another over fears? inb4 yes.

He went to war with Iran because he was worried that there would be a Shia revolution? - There WAS one that is why he went to war. And it effected Iraq greatly! Terrorist groups (which are now actually the ruling party in Iraq) carried out bombings all over the capital.
My god man do you actually know the depth behind the conflicts?
Kuwait was warned on several occasions or else there would be economic war and they chose not to listen and they got conquered.

Ah yes. I didn't know about the Shia terror groups. But didn't Saddam have connections with terrorist groups to? Weren't they also carrying out attacks? Didn't the US and foreign powers then have a right to attack Iraq, just like Iraq had the right to attack Iran in the 1980s?

They were warned to stop producing oil? What gives Iraq the right to tell them what to do? |
