DETAILS At 7:46 PM on August 19th, 2013, a Sun Country Airlines 737-700 lost all hydraulic control when on final approach into Minneapolis St. Paul International thus making the nose pitch up violently. The plane maintained 480 Knots while it climbed at 11600 fpm towards 24000 feet. Soon thereafter, the nose violently pitched down and turned towards rwy 15. The Captain tried to recover the aircraft but all hope was lost when the engines flamed out at about 7500 feet. The aircraft struck the rwy at 7:54 PM. The plane was seriously damaged during impact. Although the pilot suffered blows to the head, he managed to direct the plane onto a grassy area between the taxiway and the runway. Emergency crew responded immediately and pulled the pilot out of the sliding window in the cockpit. No passengers were on board at the time of the incident.
