| Have you guys ever wondered that kids spend 13 years kindergarden to high school supposedly being prepared for life, yet when they get out they don't have any real skills. 13 years and kids aren't taught how to grow a garden, or how to build a house, how to fix a car, how to balance a check book , or how to cook a healthy meal. 13 years and kids come out not even ruminating concepts of how to organize elite groups of people , without even a glimpse of understanding how to resolve conflicts non violently, and we call this an education? Yes, we are taught how to read and write and how to do some basic math, but we aren't taught to think for ourself, we aren't taught the principles of logic, we are taught to sit in a desk and listen obediently as the world is packaged to a neat little box that we have to accept without question. We are conditioned to reform and the reward for faithfully jumping through all these loops for 13 years for a worthless piece of paper, that no employer even asks to see. Kids exit high school, barely qualified to flip burgers at Mc Donald's, and even for that we have to be trained. 13 years is a long time, that is the most of our childhood, to have that much time taken at force with such pathetic results, it's unacceptable, the problem here isn't the lack of funding or poorly trained teachers, or even lack regulations. The problem is our entire educational system. The system isn't designed to prepare children for the real world, it's designed to format their minds, it's designed to create a population of individuals just smart enough to fill out paperwork and punch a time card but to stupid to question the system it self and the authority of others running it. If we want to change course, we cannot ignore this aspect of our enslavement, there is no point labouring the wake up other adults in our life so they sent the children to be program by the state, the revolution, the mind must include a revolution and education. |

tl;dr
school doesn't prepare us for the problems that we face during adult life, it is mostly making us slaves of the system. we must learn to think for ourselves |

"I want to learn how to build a house" idk about most people but this can actually be learned at my school in fact there is a program where i am that is dedicated to preparing kids for careers such as building houses (and yes, you actually build a house in this program, all with air conditioning and electricity) fixing a car (they've even built jetskis) im not entirely sure if this is in all schools though but im tired of all these middle schoolers pretending to know how it works just because they dont want to go to school tomorrow |

@werewolfgirl
in modern american society, you won't be able to do so to build a house, you require land land requires money enough money for land requires a high-paying job, and a high-paying job requires a college degree, which requires a highschool diploma

I'm already trying to set my life. I'm getting a car this year, and next year im getting a job. I think its important for me to learn how to weld, fix cars, and feed myself if im going to live alone in the middle of nowhere. |

@were Welding is simple, and i want to be a mechanic too. Like, 1/4 of a mile from my place is one of the two factorys where mini's and BMWs are made, i got a C on my first year of Design Tech whilst people in the grade above me got F's, so i am going to try my hardest.
