How much should I train? Also gonna join track and field in the springtime, idk what I'm going to do though.

um if you were trying out this year you should have been training since before school ended

my xc team provides a running schedule for first timers yours might too

i was going to run but that would mean i can't play fall baseball outside the school and it was this whole issue

build up dat stamina
then when you start to feel like you're getting comfortable, go faster

but if they dont give you a schedule it works basically like this:

run for as long as you can without any serious problems like your leg cramps or your legs start to feel like jelly or you lose your breath completely

then you go out a few days later and try to top that and so on until you get up around 3 miles

then you run 3 miles every other day for a week

then 4 every other day for a week

then 5 every other day for a week

then 6 every other day for a week

if you still have time left before your xc tryouts just run every day, try to get under 25 mins for 3 miles

I came 34th out of 200 last time..

And fell twice lel

plus for my team they cut it to something like 50 people on the jv team and 10 on the varsity when 100+ people try out so i pretty much stopped training after that was put out there

Yeah there are no cuts on our running teams, but I still want to be pretty good.

just kidding i think the number was 2400

in 2010 it was around 2000 people and it's been increasing steadily because our JROTC program saves people from going to the most ghetto school in the county so they enroll in JROTC so they can go there etc etc
