Either. The parenthesis don't matter at all. They don't have a syntactic function and they don't otherwise modify the behavior of the code at all.
ALGOL (C-like) languages (e.g., Java, Javascript, C) usually require parenthesis around conditions, so the practice creeps in from there. Lua does not require them. Pick what you prefer. Although, since they aren't required, it would usually be considered better to not have them at all, as they are just unnecessary clutter. |
