Open up your folders, go into downloads, and search for the virus and delete it.

Lol maybe you should go into your control panel and search for the thing you downloaded and uninstall it... I accidently downloaded babylon search bar and now my computer is back to normal |

Viruses vary in damage and ease of removal.
Some viruses 'take over the computer' (as a real-world virus would) by infecting anything it can.
Unfortunately, newer viruses have gotten clever and seem to change their definitions as they infect each file, making it a harder task for any anti-virus to remove them - and for some AVs, even impossible.
A few top AVs, for example Bitdefender, can successfully protect you from such events, as it will see the act of the virus as a threat, rather than its definition.
Viruses can have, but are not limited to, the following targets/reasons to infect you: 1. To spread in an attempt to take over government or official controls. A virus launched a few years back successfully did this to Iran. 2. To infringe upon your private information: pws, usernames, *mails, and even b*nking information. These can even watch you in real-time, and allow the controller to use your PC when you're not around; they often contain keyloggers, too.
Getting rid of viruses aren't so easy; you'd want to install an AV such as Bitdefender - they have a trial, and a free version, I believe. If all else fails, you'll be forced to wipe your hard drive completely, and re-install your OS. |

| Get a free anti-virus trial. It still does the job, badly. |

| Ok, Mark. Go into your extensions. If you see anything you don't remember adding to chrome, remove it. |

Now, to make sure the dumb thing is gone, go into "Settings" and go to "on startup". On the bottom one, there should be a button that says "Set Pages". Remove the site that keeps popping up from the list.
Also, under that, there should be a section that says "Search". Click "Manage search engines" Remove all of the ones that you aren't familiar with.
I hope I helped. Contact me for anymore help. |
