All the youtube tutorials are by some Hispanic guy, and I can't understand one word he is saying.

And looking at a bunch of text on some wiki is just about as useless.

Any good sites or something that will guide you through assembly code?

1. What you just said is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard
2. Just use Linux or BSD.

And for the record I like Microsoft. It was a joke.

But we do want to make our own OS just to say we did it.

you realise that anything beyond a fully text based OS will be literally millions of lines of assembly and C?

well providing you want to make your own applications without hard-coding them and a proper system for managing different applications.

and you also realise you need to implement memory & string functions from scratch, right?

there's also no debuggers (unless there is a way of writing your own, but I don't know about the chances of this either). if you find a bug in your OS code in booting it... well you're stuffed

Another cool idea would be to make your own Assembly interpreter using Lua.

That would be a cool project...

Have you heard of the WW5 instruction for most processors?
It causes the computer to self-destruct when the user inputs a certain series of characters.

Oh yeah, WW5 is short for world war 5, right?

I'm sure it doesn't mean weewoo5.
