Okay, instead of the regular one flag capture system, two flag, three flag, etc.

There is a giant space station controlled by the defenders.
Inside are frigates and fighters, as well as mining vessels.

The attackers, AKA raiders, control a spaceship fleet.
In the spaceships, which the attackers will be able to choose which one they want to spawn in, are frigates and fighters, with only a couple mining vessels.

The reason for the different mining vessel amount will be understood, but not explained that that is the reason, later on.

Every 30 minutes, all space ships are blown up, the parts removed, and they respawn.
That is the only way for ships to respawn unless you destroy it yourself.

What the area will look like:
There will be a desert planet, being orbited by a icy moon. The moon holds one or two cities, while the planet holds many. There are frozen lakes in craters on the small moon. On the planet, there are a few oases. Rivers crisscross the planet, while leaving plenty of desert. The cities have built trenches to allow water to flow to cities, allowing them to not have to build right on rivers.
The cities on the planet will be made of a tan clay. The buildings range from small to big to huge. There are "cracks" in the 'bricks' of 'older' buildings to show age. The cities on the moon will be made up of a snowy brick. They are relatively new, without cracks.
There is a gas giant that holds a powerful gravity well. It will suck in ships that get too close, crushing, destroying, and killing. The other planet and moon hold less powerful gravity wells. This allows the player to actually pay attention to how they fly into a planet, instead of just hurtling at it, then stopping at the last second. You will keep speeding up, with no max speed set. It is possible for the ship to explode on impact of a planet. It is extremely difficult to blow up on a moon from gravity, props to you if you manage it.
The sun is a red dwarf. The planets and moons will orbit around the sun with elliptical patterns (not. perfect. circles.). The patterns, if possible through scripting, will change slowly over time, such as, it has one orbit at one time, then it slow drifts closer, then slowly drifts farther away. This will be continuous, and the planet will only hit the sun after five whole hours of the map being up, which will signify neither side won, as you need the planet to win.
To make it more challenging, the asteroid belt will be orbiting around the gas giant. This will allow players to have careful planning as to not get too close to the gas giant when mining. When mining, minerals must be brought back to their respective 'command center's (space station for defenders, one of the ships for attackers) to count towards anything. If the mining vessel is destroyed on its way back, it is destroyed on its back, with the minerals spew out of the rubble, going in all directions, slowly disappearing. You may also find gems, rarely, through mining. These are **very** valuable to the planet's inhabitants.
On the planet, the cities will allow trading. Through trading, you can get gems, minerals, weapons, ships, and all sorts of neat things. *Hint: One of which might be able to resist the pull of gravity, or perhaps be reinforced to not take damage on impact or through the crushing of a gas giant.*

To win:
The attackers must gain a large amount of minerals to win. However, just going straight for minerals will not work. You **must** use strategies. If you just have mining vessels go back and forth, the defenders could easily watch, see a pattern, then strike when the mining vessels are on their way back. It is one strategy to just protect them as they go back and forth, but how is that any fun at all? After all, this is just a game. If you just take the fun out of it that way, it's not a game anymore, but a burden.
Once they gain a certain amount of minerals they may launch a full scale attack to **ATTEMPT** to take the space station. The defenders are able to repel attacks, forcing you to have to get more minerals to launch another attack.

The defenders must gain an insanely large amount of minerals, perhaps close to a million, to win. Once they reach the amount set, they set up an OP laser that requires a couple thousand minerals to launch one shell. One shell may only destroy one of the fleet's ships. There are multiple ships in the fleet. The laser has a 5 minutes cooldown.

There are no other ways to win. If the planet is destroyed, it is a draw, neither side wins.

The space station must be monitored by the defenders at all times. It may move when a pilot is present, however, the engines must remain cool, otherwise, they will explode, and need to be repaired to allow the station to move again.
When the laser fires, if it hits, the attackers may spend 10 minutes to repair a destroyed capital ship (lets just call them that :)). This allows the defenders to destroy two for every one you can repair, with proper aiming. It will cost minerals to repair engines, parts, ships, etc.

There might be something else I wish to add, but I'm tired and cannot remember.

I love this idea and even had an idea for something similar a ways back, it is evry innovative.

The one problem: Roblox, their servers and processors honestly wouldn't be able to handle it until featherweights come out, that and you are speaking of quite a large map size, until we get 100 person servers, this will not be as engaging as it sounds on paper, otherwise, a very great idea, however until roblox gets the upgrades it's been promising/needs, that is all it will be, an idea.

Rom, the problem is, bigger servers = more lag.

Perhaps, there are 20 player servers, with a script that sets a max of 10 on each team.

there's already a ship v ship game a group could use. It's opensource, just add the teamy stuffs, and then rename it to whatever space sector, and boom. yeyeyeye.

@Cake, there lies the second problem I addressed, 10v10 with that map size would not be engaging at all. It's like playing BF3 on a console, the maps are designed for 32v32 gameplay. Just your layout of 3 cities on a moon and many cities on a planet is quite large and needs large gameplay, larger than the 30 person servers we are stuck with.

Honestly, if we mix featherweights with say, 50 or 60 player servers, smooth scripts and some good anti lag, you will have a good, engaging game. Unfortunately roblox does not seem to want to do these updates, so until then, that's honestly what it will remain, a very awesome idea.

I have seen some awesome smaller scale shipvship however from hippofalkus (Think I butchered the name) And from some MB people. However none of them were as innovative as this, a very very small scaled version of what you are speaking of would be the game Keth Shipyards.

Hm, maybe if we brought enough support to it in a group. Because honestly, roblox is giving too many of these unexpected crappy updates no one wants and none of these awesome previewed updates everyone wants.
