"Some of yall suburbanites don't have what it takes to live in a metropolis"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metropolis A Metropolis is basically a core city and the urban area. As long as businesses, industries, and residential areas are connected, suburbs count in Metropolises. I hope you knew that...
So technically I already live in a Metropolis as I don't live in the city of Austin itself, but rather a suburb that touches Austin and is surrounded to the south and southwest by Austin.
I pretty much already live in the city. |

| Either way, places like Abilene, Texas or Selma, Alabama, are considered cities even though they're just small towns. Real intense urban life. |

"Austin hardly counts as a city in my standards"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Largest_urban_areas_of_the_United_States Urban area is larger than Salt Lake City, Memphis, and Nashville's urban areas.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_cities_by_population And the 11th largest city... Lol... I don't know what you're trying to say, but anyone from Houston sees any city besides Houston and Dallas as "little tiny towns". |

never even heard of Selma, AL
I've heard and been to Selma, TX

I don't count Salt Lake City, Memphis, or Nashville as cities either. Especially not Nashville.

I'm pretty sure the average American sees Austin as a city nowadays, but back before about 1998-2001 they wouldn't. It still also has the attributes of a small town when it's nearing up on 1,000,000 people in the city and 2,000,000 in the metro area.
Houstonians and people from Dallas don't see Austin as a city because they're "proud" of how big their city is and like to "bully" up on Austin and San Antonio. |

I'd bully on every city in Latin America that's not named Mexico City, Buenos Aires, Lima, Bogota, Sao Paolo, Guadalajara, and Rio de Janeiro. |

I'm pretty sure I'd do decent living in Dallas or Houston though, for real.
First few months will be a bit challenging and odd, but after observing my relatives, it'd be alright. Not what I prefer though. |

Mexico City - Respect Buenos Aires - Respect Lima - Somewhat. Still falls short and looks hideous. Santiago de Chile is better. Bogotá - More respect than Lima, altough I prefer Medellín. Sao Paulo - Respect Guadalajara - Respect Rio de Janeiro - Eeehh... |
