@Mario
Thats what I was saying all this time.
Sherlock Holmes was nothing like the classic stories, and it made a kickass movie.
Lord of The Rings had dozens of changes here and there to make the movie better. |

I totally agree, with you, but at times there can be unnecessary changes to the material.
I love the "Constantine" movie for example, but making him wield a shotgun and blast away all the demons at the climax of the film was a lazy way to tell the story and completely destroys John's character. |

@Hilarious You think The Hunger Games is a good adaption? Then I've got 3 words for YOU! The Shawshank Redemption! By far the best book to movie adaption in existence. The Hunger Games is a pile of garbage compared to that. |

@Mario It does all three of those. In my opinion it's one of the best films ever made, which is saying something since it's based on a book |

Comic book films are totally not like this. While the Nolan, Whedon, Burton, etc. comic book films are good, they're just stories based on the characters. The real books have a lot of memorable storylines that interconnect everything. Watchmen (a film I would never reccomend to the people who play this game) is a film that was exactly as the comic put it. You know why? Because the stories are too good. Watchmen is about a group of super heroes that comes together after another team breaks up. The members of the first team are killed one by one, leading a member of the newer team (which, by the time the story ended had disbanded) to form another group. Meanwhile, in this timeline, the U.S. has focused too much on the heroes and not on the Cold War, which is still in progress. One hero sees this and kills the older heroes because they have ruined the world. Eventually America will lose to Russia. The hero brings all of the other heroes to his headquarters to show them that he has endangered the humans to save them. Russia and America have teamed together to stop the threat. The main character makes another hero kill him because he cannot take that his side has not been taken. As you can see, Watchmen is a great story. The movie adaptation never made it so that it was just BASED on it.
The main heroes have had good stories too. For instance, they have rebooted the heroes twice. One in 1986 and the other in 2011. They each brought 52 new universes using those heroes to make stories. Nothing was ever said about unknown universes. While those would be good stories, they were never made into the comics to be canon. They're just the directors wanting publicity from the book. |

I don't see how this is relevant to our conversation.
Did you just post this because you wanted to talk about superman again?
Go to that corner and think about what you've done! |

| I just wanted to say my opinion of what movies based on books are like. Comic book films aren't really as good as the 80 years of comics. |
