an analylsis of how realistic the placement and selection of the guns are in CoD: Black Ops.
/GsfQjEK
Taken into account is the actual version of the weapon used rather than its given name, as well as likelyness you would find one or mode in the hands of military units in the given time period.
Many of the weapons marked as "Issued" were issued in extremely small numbers and therefore would be incredibly unlkely to be found in the regular numbers seen in Call of Duty: Black Ops, such as the Walther WA 2000 and China Lake Grenade Launcher.
"But maybe a prototype was used" is a poor excuse for a weapon being seen in 1963 that wasnt designed until the late 80's and 90's. i find the HK G11 especially ridiculous, as the model seen in game wasnt made until 1990 and mysteriously lacks its full-auto function, instead using an unrealistically slow 3-round burst; only 1,000 HK G11's were ever produced. |

There's no way COD would ever be real then If it wasnt 3 round burst they would have to nerf the hell out of it that's also why the m16 has always been 3 round burst only in MP |

are you autistic or do you dislike CoD so much that you nitpick the weapons chosen used in a video game
in a game where getting 25 kills allows the use of nuclear missiles i don't think realism is necessarily the focus

That was actually going to be a feature of the Korean war but the devs thought it would be too OP. |

there would be no NEED for an "OP" G11 if it wasnt ADDED because its not REALISTIC. |

RPGs: Made shortly after WWII _______________________________
if by "shortly after" you mean "16 years later", sure, RPG-7 was designed in 1961.
AK-47: Made in 1946 _______________________________
the "AK47" featured is an incorrectly named AK74, which wasnt designed until 1974.
Red dot sight: 1975. Last year of the Vietmam war. _______________________________
The game is set 1961-1968, and optical sights like the "red dot" never entered military use until the early 90's, popularized by the adoption of the M1913 Picatinny Rail and the M16A3/A4 and M4/M4A1 Carbines. |

The point where they mistook fun for being easy to play is cheap is when CoD "broke" for me.
Which was after CoD MW |

COD4 was good. not exactly hyper-realistic but realistic enough, and was a very well made game. it was the last CoD before Activision bought Infinity Ward, fired its staff, and replaced them with Activision staff to make the monstrosity that is MW2.
Every CoD after COD4 sucks. |

I'm talking about the RPG-2. Not 7
the "AK47" featured is an incorrectly named AK74, which wasnt designed until 1974.
1974: Second last year of the war. Still plausible.
Red dot sight: 1975. Last year of the Vietmam war.
The game is set 1961-1968, and optical sights like the "red dot" never entered military use until the early 90's, popularized by the adoption of the M1913 Picatinny Rail and the M16A3/A4 and M4/M4A1 Carbines
Well they are secret agents Let's just assume they get all the military hareware years early. (Or it was an unlocakable that fans would complain about if it wasn't included.) |

STANAG M1913 Picatinny Rail adopted 1991 and used first on the M16A3, which has a removeable carry handle. |
