There are 6 public indoor ice rinks in the San Jose area.
Heat and California has nothing to do with it. Indoor arena's have air conditioning. |

| They are not a hockey town, but hockey is more important to the fans. |

| Although, since the Gretzky trade in 1988 (which today is the 25th anniversary of the trade :o), hockey has been bigger in California than ever before. If that trade does not happen, most of the other Californian teams would not be there. So yes, I would say it is a hockey town |

"most of the other Californian teams would not be there."
You're saying that the Gretzky trade is the reason California teams are still around? That's ridiculous. |

| It's more like California is a hockey state. Not one of the biggest but I consider it to still be a hockey state. I live in Central California in the Central Valley ( aka a small not known area) and yet we have a hockey team in all the cities. Our best hockey team around that area is in the NAHL which are the Fresno Monsters. Great team who usually get pretty far. In North California I've seen mostly all the highschools having hockey as a sport to participate in. Alot of NAHL teams in that area as well. Finally we have 3 professional teams which we all know very well, the LA Kings, Anaheim Ducks, and San Jose Sharks. |

@hockeydude
I don't know man, you don't live here lol. I'd give the Sharks a small advantage in REAL fans, but LA has a big fanbase too. |
