I find it annoying how old threads I posted on get bumped daily into my feed, and I think there should be an unfollow button implemented.

Why not just look at the threads you are actually following instead of the ones you have recently commented on?

Simply tick, "Email me when someone replies to this thread" and it will be displayed at the top of the list, wen you don't want to see it anymore, simply go to it and untick the box.

@Tec

Because that would be annoying to do that after every thread I post on, and I posted on a lot of old threads that keep on getting bumped.

I don't see how ticking a box for threads you want to see the activity on is any more annoying than having to go and set other to NOT. It's the exact same thing.

Infact, with what we already have you can even do the same thing you are suggesting with threads we haven't even posted on. The entirety of this suggestion is already possible by subscribing to a thread rather than just looking at your recently commented on threads, which, reguardless of if you want them to or not, should always show all your recently commented on threads, because that's it's purpose...

It's not the exact same thing. Not every post has to be unfollowed. Ticking a boolean every time you post is annoying, if you posted on a bunch of forum game threads, you'd know what I mean. I hate having them in my feed.

It, it really is the same thing.

Literally the only difference is one feed shows threads you have posted on, the other shows ones you ticked a box on, and ticking that box takes literally almost no time, infact it takes much less time then writing out a post. If you want to follow a thread, and don't want it getting mixed up in all the other threads you happen to post on, it's literally one click away.

Hiding old ones still takes selecting not to show them, and doesn't make it any easier than what we already have.

No, it's not the same thing. You don't understand. I don't think anybody is comfortable to tick a box every time you post on a thread. The forum games threads I've posted on have been bumped to my feed since 2011, which is extremely annoying. It'd be even more annoying if I had to check a box every time I post on a thread. This is why other site forums have this option.

You don't have to tick a box every time you post, infact you don't even have to post to tick the box. You only need to tick one box one time for each thread you want to follow.

Your idea still includes hitting one button for each one thread you don't want to follow. In the end they both achieve the same effect. If you subscribe to threads you want to follow, you will have a feed you can remove things from whenever you want, and they will show up even if you didn't post in them.

Allowing people to UNFOLLOW threads they are not following in the first place, but are simply in a list of threads they have posted in, is pointless. You might as well just follow the threads you do want to see.

They don't achieve the same effect. You don't have to unfollow every thread you post on. Only the ones you dislike looking at daily.

Or you could just follow the ones you like looking at daily...

Mine isn't an idea, it's something we ALREADY have. As you said they achieve the same effect, so no point in adding it when we already have it.

Yes, do you? There is no need to have an option to get rid of items from the list of threads you recently posted on, because you can just select the "Email me when someone replies to this thread" option at the top of a thread, and it will show above the list of recently posted in threads.

You do realize that doesn't unfollow threads, right?

It doesn't unfollow them, it follows them in the first place. ONLY FOLOW the ones you want to show up. Then if you later want it to stop showing up, UNFOLLOW it.

You are not following the "Last 25 active threads you have participated in:" so there is no reason to be able to remove things from them. You ARE NOT following them, you can't unfollow them. If you want a list of threads that you care about, simply tick the box to follow them.

Only track the ones you care about. As I said, there is no reason to be able to remove things from your last 25, just follow the ones you DO care about.

Then why are you suggesting this in the first place? If it's too much hassle to manage them, why bother complaining you can't.

Before arguing with me, learn what you're even talking about. I'm not tracking every thread I post on, it'll be a pain.

Tec, you get an EMAIL everytime someone replies...

you would have thousands of emails by now if you were to tick the box on a forum games page.

1) Set your mail to filter them out.
2) Use a spam-mail. :T
3) Suggest there be a way to track without mail notifications, instead of a whole new system.
