F2P was pretty restricted, you couldn't exit Avant Gardens, I don't think you could even choose your faction still I think they released free-to-play too early and should have kept it pay-2-play until they had enough money to support themselves to the point where the metric tons of free players wouldn't be a financial problem

or they could have a free-to-play model that's actually GOOD, unlike 99% of games i'd say the guild wars 2 route is about perfect; pay-to-purchase, optional market on the side (and the game is completely playable without using it). |
