you can't really broadcast an 82 game season with 30 teams all on one network..

I never said it had to be on one network.
Look at the NFL. 2-3 games all day on CBS, NBC, Fox, and ABC. |

Still, with a multitude of games going on every day pretty much for months, that's really impossible. Hence the reason why most games are shown on the local stations.
For example, DFW has FOX Sports Southwest to broadcast Stars games, with the occasional NBC Sports Network games.
And the NY Rangers, for example, have MSG to broadcast their games.
It would just be too difficult to do.

| It probably will never happen. But if they ever do overcome the odds, they would get a major deal before NHL, MLB, and NBA. |
