Observe that in all the propaganda of the ecologists—amidst all their appeals to nature and pleas for "harmony with nature"—there is no discussion of man's needs and the requirements of his survival. Man is treated as if he were an unnatural phenomenon. Man cannot survive in the kind of state of nature that the ecologists envision—i.e., on the level of sea urchins or polar bears. . . .
In order to survive, man has to discover and produce everything he needs, which means that he has to alter his background and adapt it to his needs. Nature has not equipped him for adapting himself to his background in the manner of animals. From the most primitive cultures to the most advanced civilizations, man has had to manufacture things; his well-being depends on his success at production. The lowest human tribe cannot survive without that alleged source of pollution: fire. It is not merely symbolic that fire was the property of the gods which Prometheus brought to man. The ecologists are the new vultures swarming to extinguish that fire.

so how often do you write your own materiel?
pepper, our curren form of energy is increasingly expensive and is damaging the ecosystem, without earth, there can be no humans, whats wrong with sustainable, cheap and infinite energy? its our future. |

The human race's needs is a sustainable source of energy that:
Does not destroy the key materials we need to live
Is a renewable source (so it may survive much, much longer) |

"wind mills as far as the I can see, yet there is no wind. Investment wasted."
Then put them in places where there is wind? |

Why does it need to be renewable?
We keep on discovering new oil fields. |

| eventually its gonna run out, face it, it pollutes the air, what about oil spills and those types of pollution? ive never heard of a sunshine spill or a windspill |

Because we know that:
It takes millions of years for oil to form naturally
That underneath the crust there is a finite space
That if we run out of oil fields, the global economy won't keel over and die |

| And can I just say efficiency such as of solar cells has increased rapidly even with little investment |

| thats actually not true, you can easily intergrate solar panels and windmils just about anywhere but you can only have an oil refinery where there is oil. |

stick a solar panel on a roof, or just about anywhere, put windmills where there is wind, use efficient energy light bulbs and that sort of stuff
problem solved, we have to adapt if we want to continue thriving as a species, not refusing to change because of imaginary values like money |

I kind of like adapting to thing that are more cheerful and not self-sacrificing.
The environmentalist mind just demands more and more to debase an individual's success. |

| So because people can't make as much profit (yet it is a NEW and GROWING economy with increasing popularity), means we resort to killing our ecosystems and refusing to adapt to combat against worldwide disaster-type changes to our environment |

We wasted billions of tax dollars on renewable energy that only takes up around 2% of the the energy input.

| Call saving the planet a "waste" all you want but oil isn't sustainable, it isn't clean and we need a better substitute. |

| I don't exist for the sake of the planet. I exist for the sake of myself, and what I find best for my own well being is the most efficient resources ie oil, gas and coal. That is the essence of OP |

so you think we should you know, just give up and stop experimenting, accepting we are doomed the minute we cant find oil and give up? cool
with every new technology experimentation is required, dont just assume that any inventor gave up after 10 years of experimenting, some spent life times searching for answers while the majority called them fools, here we atleast have popular support and more tech at our disposal |
