you claim atheism is lack of faith yet you have faith in your beliefs because there is no solid proof or evidence of there being no God and I know there is no solid proof or evidence of there being a God but I have faith so I believe there is |

Don't post things like this
OT is hardly an intellectual center and WILL NOT reason or have an intelligent conversation with you.
This is a flamewar waiting to happen.

This is completely false. Take a baby for instance; it has no faith, therefore it doesn't believe in god.
The whole argument that it takes more faith to not believe in a god is completely dependent on each individual atheists' rationalization for not believing in a god. It's a useless point to make. |

i remember bringing that up in an argument against a christian that atheism, christianity, and any other religion all require faith because atheism requires faith in scientists and whatnot to not be lying or wrong
so this doesn't really serve as an argument for or against atheism |

"because atheism requires faith in scientists and whatnot to not be lying or wrong" Not at all? I can guarantee that most scientists don't dedicate their research and time trying to disprove a god. Rather, they spend their time researching in different fields.
It's simply through what knowledge we've gained through the process of science that many atheists justify their lack of belief.
Furthermore, many atheists don't even use science to rationalize their disbelief.
"it takes as much belief for me to not believe in god than it does for you to believe in god case closed"
Wow, I think I'm convinced. What a profound statement. /s |

but seriously like even though you pray and crap it still takes me as much energy to not believe in god than it does for you to believe in him. |

i never said scientists are all trying to disprove god, but certain theories conflict with the belief in god, and you have to have faith that those theories are write or wrong, because you can't be entirely sure that they're true because they're theories
also liliam made a fair point and i'm not sure what the sarcasm was for it wasn't really a point against christianity, as it looks like you acted it was, more just a statement of defense of atheism |

"The whole point of the bible was proof, why u need more? -_-"
Of course! Why didn't I realize that sooner! I mean, it makes total sense to believe in something just because of a book a bunch of old delusional ignorant men wrote! Wow! |

"butthurt christian alert oh god"
I'm an atheist? Lol
"i never said scientists are all trying to disprove god, but certain theories conflict with the belief in god, and you have to have faith that those theories are write or wrong, because you can't be entirely sure that they're true because they're theories"
Like I said, you don't need to have faith in theories to not believe in a god. It's totally possible to not believe in a god because you don't know what a god is. I'm simply arguing against what OP said. What OP said is technically true, to an extent that is, is what I'm basically saying.
"it wasn't really a point against christianity, as it looks like you acted it was, more just a statement of defense of atheism"
I'm not arguing against christianity or atheism, just this statement. |
