First, a bit about what went on at Bloxcon in case you couldn't come. There were three activities: Hackathon, R&D lab, and the booth area. Some of this (it is obvious which parts) were London specific but mostly they would be the same for whatever Bloxcon you went to.
=BOOTH AREA
The booth area was the busiest place most of the time, but there didn't appear to be much going on. As it was in the RAF (Royal Air Force) museum, there was a competition to throw a paper plane - if you got it past a line, you won a free ticket on the flight simulator, and if you landed on a specific line, you won 10k robux. This was manned by Shedletsky (all day!) and other admins, often Matt Dusek (who looks like Shedletsky without the glasses).
As for the "booths", there was only arbirator's roblox news booth. This was also prime autograph and trading card swapping location (incidentally, although I didn't get any autographs or trade any cards, my mum got Shedletsky's autograph and managed to trade until she got the complete set of cards). There was a funny moment where Arbirator was talking to some guy like he was a complete newbie and showing him useful scripting tutorials, who turned out to be TheGamer101 (there's two of them!).
=R&D LAB
If you arrived past 10am, which was most people, you had to reserve a place by picking up a ticket for a specific time slot of 30 mins. When it was your turn, a very tall and loud man shouted at the other staff to get them to reset the room full of computers. Noob007 was here as well. He looks a bit like notch and he has a permanent jolly expression.
The idea of the R&D lab was to play a game where you had to drive a loaded lorry through a track in the fastest time - although you could choose to load a new place and do whatever you want - in order to show off their new physics engine. They didn't say anything about the physics engine other than that it was a "completely new engine". I haven't used roblox for a while so I can't really compare the new physics engine to anything.
=HACKATHON
There were three 2 hour hackathon slots. I only attended the last one where I was informed that they kept track of people's score throughout the whole day, so the only way for you to really win would be to attend each one, which I thought was a bit of a stupid idea, as you would then have to miss almost everything else. I assume the questions were different for each time slot.
There were three people staffing this, although various other admins sometimes wandered in. Gemlocker (Simon Kovlov), was really friendly and funny, helped by his awesome Russian accent. You could be in the Hackathon area all day, even when the Hackathon was not running, and just make random models and places with staff around to talk with, get help from, and show your work to, which I saw several people doing.
I won't give too much away about the questions as the NYC bloxcon is coming up, but here's one example scripting question: create a flashlight which, when shone on an object, turns it to CorrodedMetal and blasts it away. The questions sometimes gave you brief hints (that example question said "Tip: Raycasting"), and you typically had a 15 minute timer although sometimes Gemlocker would say "We have 8 minute timer now because this easy question". There are separate building questions, but you can do both if you want.
If you want to talk to an admin, I would strongly recommend coming to the Hackathon area. It isn't busy and the admins are just helping people with some building or looking at stuff that people have created while there, unlike in other areas where all the admins are constantly doing a job (or dodging paper planes).
=MAIN PRESENTATION
It was 2 hours long and relatively interesting. My brother, who is not particularly interested in Roblox, and my mum both found the presentation more interesting than they expected, although the beginning of the presentation was probably the most un-British thing I have ever seen. I've never heard the phrase "Are you ready to rock?" used in real life.
David Basucki, Keith, Matt Dusek, and Brad Justus were the main speakers. They explained the past of Roblox, introduced new features, had an awards ceremony, and had a Q&A session. The Q&A session was generally well handled and the answers were good, and they managed to artfully dodge a couple of stupid questions ("Will there be a feature to tattoo my roblox character?").
I can't actually remember most of the features they said were coming in the next month. Here are a few things I remember.
-New physics engine -There will be an option to disable outlines for your place, both globally and part surface specific. -Forum rework is NOT in development but it is a 'good idea' -GUI rotation, custom sound/music are 'top requested features (but I can't remember if they were implementing them or not)
If you ask me about a feature, I will probably remember whether they mentioned it or not.
I walked round bloxcon for half the day with trappingnoobs before he had to leave at 2:30pm, and I also managed to walk straight through an interview at about 5:40pm without realising there was even a camera there. |

"Like, BRAND NEW? Have any more details on this?"
They were very vague. I think they said it was "completely new" but didn't go into much detail. They did say that people at Bloxcon were the first to use it, so I imagine it is completely new. |

| There was a really impressive graphics display, which was apparently rendered in real time, using outlines and some snowy place. |

A new physics engine! Horr- >According to sorcus, it's physics fixes, not a brand new physics engine. ... Excuse me as I go cry in my room.

| ^ I'm confused... did you mean "Hoor-" as in "Hooray!" or "Horr-" as in "Horrible!" because your response to Sorcus was negative, implying you meant "Hooray!" but you instead typed "Horrible!" |

Hooray. Now that Sorcus ruins my dreams of doing anything with ROBLOX, I might as well cry.

| Why do we need a new physics engine? The current one is fine. I would be happy with a more exposed API, better Body* objects, and more joints. AFAIK, the solver can't get much better than it already is. |

They said there would be a new animation system coming out soon. I think. |

| During the presentation at Bloxcon Chicago, they had a slide showing the top requested features. They didn't tell us if they were going to implement these features; they merely stated that they were "popular requests". |

"... Excuse me as I go cry in my room."
physics fixes should be just as good as a brand new engine, as physics should behave as in the real world not custom/different

@green thing
Yeah, that was what GUI rotation was on the list for. |
