And just for fun you must simulate the flow of nutrients inside the goo.
It shall form a nucleus in a safe place and form a protecting layer of armor-goo around it.
When it eats a player the player will slowly flow towards the nucleus inside the goo-arms to be eaten.
Yes, you should be able to use grenades and weapons. Of course you should get paralyzed after a few seconds in the goo, and weaponry should be ineffective inside more mature branches of the goo. (to prevent people jumping in with 10 grenades and triggering them all in the nucleus)
The nucleus should look like a deformed sorcus constantly begging you to feed it in a monstrous goo-voice created using one of those MIDI things.
Yes.....
