She says that she wants a PC that can play games at low-medium settings, and can efficiently run specific production software. I've put this together for her; http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1lfwt, would this work out? She specifically wants Windows 8 and wireless support. |

I'm building a PC of my own and I think it's a pretty good setup
Recommend this to her :

I set it up with the help of Meldo and Super.
Also tell her that she is going to have a hard time gaming with W8 and wireless support.

oh my god why would you use a pentium?
if she wants production software, then you'll also need a slightly better video card and power supply |

Pentiums are half decent when it comes to low-medium end gaming, as long as they don't have integrated graphics. |

-http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1lfj4 Yes, this would work. She already has a monitor from her old PC and already has a mouse and keyboard, which would lower the price down to around $320.00, plus the price of the wireless adapter |

if she's using production software, the processor will "melt". |

if you can, you might want to bump the 5450 to a 5570. even if she's not wanting something for le supr hardcur gaimn!, it'll still help her run the games better.

"hard time gaming with W8"
Windows 8 works great for gaming.
So far, every game (I have around 20, 14 of which are steam games) that I've bought has been able to run on it with no problems at all, except for Fallout NV which crashes occasionally.

My CPU is weaker than the one provided, and it runs Vegas Pro and Camtasia flawlessly, not to mention the integrated graphics! |

| Anyone who says Pentiums are bad are talking out of their ass. Any Pentium that is post-Pentium 4 are just Core 2 Duo/Core i3 with less cache. |

Much better build than you had and ends up being 3 cents cheaper. |

why include an ssd?
that could be allocated to a dedicated gpu

| If it's for productivity programs as well (not sure what ones) then an SSD will benefit them more than a more powerful GPU. The iGPU in the 5800K will also be more than enough for the gaming usage described so it shouldn't matter too much. |
