| They have been terrible since June of last year. They are the AL's version of the Nationals. Great pitching, terrible offense. |

Well, they are 3.5 games behind Oakland, but I wouldn't be sure that they're the "American League version of the Washington Nationals"; they're still ten games over the .500 mark, while the Nationals are four games under the .500 mark.
Who knows? They might not make the playoffs. But I still think -- even though I am a Tigers fan -- that they're a pretty good team. |

| Have you seen our offense? It is nonexsistant. What is the point of pitching when you are only scoring 3 runs a game |

I know -- one thing that stands out is that they're hitting .260 as a team. I mean, I suppose that, while it may not be great, is not so horrible, either. But, yeah, if they were actually being explosive, they might be more like the Tigers team average (.279). (Conveniently, the Tigers lead MLB in that area.)
But when I say that I think they're still a "pretty good team," I don't just mean their stats as a team, because they've still got a pretty fair record. Now, if their offense hasn't been as great, one positive thing is, as you said, the pitching. |

Well, being shutout once in a while doesn't make their offense a total cracked nut. The Tigers have been shutout several times this year, and they've still got the best team average.
And in the end, it might not matter when your offense does nothing. But when the game isn't over yet, and it's close, it really does matter -- because you never know what might happen. |

| The Rangers have averaged 3.6 runs a game since June. |
