Ok, so I am working on an objective based FPS. It has been done before, but I am doing it differently:
First, different objectives are randomly selected in a random order. Kill X people is not one of them. In order to win, you must complete the most objectives (once an objective is done for one team both teams move on to the next objective). There will be either 3 or 5 objectives. I will change this based on the time to complete one objective.
The map will be quite large, and vehicles will be a major part of moving around. All vehicles and weapons will be researched and developed using Tech Points, acquired over time, and require developing in order to make and use (each item will have 3 upgrades, the first one being its creation. Everyone will start with a few weapons which have 2 upgrades, due to them being unlocked by default)
Now, I am also implementing something which I have never seen before in any game:
Random team names.
I have compiled a few quite long lists of all possible names for use for team names (there are team specific names). All names are made of 1 prefix and 1 suffix, randomly selected and put together. I have seen some rather mad team names already (The Epic Noobs, God-like Gods, Very long titled people of very long names, Trololol Trolls, Happy Horde , Ironically Red dudes (Ironically red is a blue-only prefix, red has Ironically Blue as its equivalent) and Fail Ninjas are but a few examples) (There are 45 common prefixes, 6 team only prefixes and 29 suffixes so far, for 1653 total possible titles).
I will try to make gameplay as unique as possible. I dont want a serious FPS like Call of Robloxia, but something a bit more random (Capture the Cake, anyone? Or maybe have tier 1 swords a stick?) |

Added 20 prefixes and 14 suffixes.
You can now have the UNSTOPPABLE FORCE vs IMMOVABLE OBJECTS. |

I am going to have CTF as Capture the Cake, the one where you plant a bomb as painting fireworks and one where you must defend a noob who puts spam on your screen (even if you are on the same team). I will probably have more later on.
Who thinks that the teir 1 scout car should be a chair? |

Have you seen the random team name generator yet?
Or do you have any prefix or suffix ideas I can use? I would prefer a balance of team-specific prefixes, though... |

| If I go down the path of weapon construction, should I make certain weapons require certain components? Like a sniper rifle cannot use assault rifle bodies, barrels or magazines? Or should I just make certain components incompatible with other components depending on tags? Like a barrel with the Sniper tag cannot go with a magazine with a High Capacity tag? |

| If I do have weapon building, there will defiantly be special rare energy weapons which require a barrel, mechanism and mag to all have an Energy tag, and cannot work with other magazines, barrels or mechanisms. |

| i once had an idea of a game- where players get points. with specific player points one with higher points can buy weapons and defenses(turrets, etc) for one with lower points. i also thought about class-specific vehicles( a vehicle where only one class could use it). could you use these? |

Plus, they probably are not realistic in use. Arrows, paintballs, cats.

well, it might be cool if you could build whatever weapon you wanted. yes, here's a sniper with a big mag with very high fire rate and no recoil! the thing is, (balance) you've got very low health and it takes a LONG time to reload. so having good things could come with bad things, which might balance the weapons

Weapons will have Weight and Mobility, Weight affects movement speed, Mobility affects weapon swap speed, both affect reload speed and recoil. You want Weight low and Mobility high (for both weapons, only equipped weapon effects reload speed and recoil).
So even if you have a high rof, high mag sniper rifle it will have very high weight, low mobility and thus will be more of a slowish assault rifle. |

However, Energy weapons will always require equivalent energy teir parts.
Energy weapons will basically fire magic spells which have a chance to induce status effects (fire, slow, and other debuffs) |
