They had different tribes which is basically a bunch of different civilizations. It was a more religious thing and also don't think of religion as gods in this situation they believed in lots of spirits which is religious in a way.

If you think about it Africa was like America in those times in lots of ways. They had tribes and those tribes had different religions and beliefs and they were scattered across the land.

@Pepper Oh, yes! They didn't really have contact with other places like Europe while Africa was trading with Europe already. It was when Columbus found the Native Americans and starting trading with them it started a civilization. Asia was trading with Europe and almost everything was trading with Europe but not America. Thanks Pepper, I finally get it!

You may say they were just tribes. but the native americans made advances in medicine, that the europeans didnt have. and if you think about it, what is the liklihood of the same invention being thought of twice. and so the europeans might have discovered guns, but the aztecs had mad ehuge advances in architecture

@Bud I am very sorry but that grammar was off! Also, they can have advances in medicine but that barely had an effect on the trading system that would have made them a civilization they were still tribes the only leader was a chief and that was of the tribes. They didn't have democracy or even autocracy, which made them just tribes.

no tribes can have democratic systems and many tribes are autocracies since they are ruled by one supreme leader

The aztecs and mayans were not just a tribe. and the iroquis made a treaty which the name escapes me, but it was the foundations of many treaties to come they made a confederation. so that in my opinion counts as a civilization

We are talking about Native Americans, like the ones in North America.... Also, yes I didn't think about them having one supreme leader making them a autocracy nice point king.

Native Americans were perfectly ok with living a simple life. They didn't need sprawling empires, that just wanted to connect with nature and enjoy life.

I'm sorry Bud did you just imply something was wrong with me and that I need to change. Hmm, wait you didn't imply it you bluntly said it. I am keeping words that are impolite from this thread but I believe if I repress any more it will be unhealthy. Also, yes the Native Americans were fine they were doing great. I couldn't say what would happen later in time if people didn't come from Europe and changed their whole lifestyle and did what they did.
