I'm gonna make a VGF fighting game for the hell of it. Even prepared myself to make one. Now there was a time where there indeed was a thread like this, but it ended up dying, and now I'm sure that it was just a very well played joke. This, however, is not. This is real. This is gonna happen. Even though I made this exact same thread before, I'm going to make it again. But different.
This game is going to be a 6-button fighter(Taunt included), with your normal Weak and Strong Punches and Kicks, along with a Cancel button that can be used to cancel attacks and boost you forward in order to extend combos, a big part of the game. Everyone has their usual specials, along with two Level 1 supers and a Level 3 hyper, along with an Assist attack featuring the Video Game Character of their choice.
The game will have a total of 10 characters, plus a boss characters who is already planned. The 10 playable characters will be iconic VGFers, although I can add newer VGFers as "DLC".
Your most used character appearance on VGF will be used to determine the appearance of your character. If it's constantly changing, then just send me an image. (Although I'll simply take another character's sprites and change the palette for the ingame appearance, although the actual character will play differently. This game is being made with Mugen BTW.)

List of Character Archetypes: -Jack Of All Stats (Balanced) -Shotoclone (Same as above, but a bit more like Ryu/Ken from SF.) -Mighty Glacier (Strong in Offense, but slow.) -Fragile Speedster (Fast, but weak.) -Stone Wall (Strong in Defense, but slow.) -Glass Cannon (Strong in Offense, but Weak in Defense.) -Lightning Bruiser (Both Fast and Strong in both ways, but with a weakness beyond them.) -Master of None (Fails in Speed, Offense, and Defense. Ron would get this if he chooses to join this, although you can if you want to be a Joke character.) -Long Range Fighter (Like a Glass Cannon, but with weak physical attacks and strong ranged attacks.) -Close Range Combatant (The reverse Long Range Fighter. Strong physical attacks but weak or no projectiles. Usually Lightning Bruiser.) -Joke Character (Same as Master of None, but made to look REALLY awkward. Looks cool when you win with him, though.) |

Special moves are basically moves that a character does in a fighting game when a special command is put in. In other words, pressing Down, Foward, and then a punch button would usually throw a fireball, and pressing Down, Back, and a kick button would have the player do a spin kick. Some can be used for other purposes, such as turning invisible or teleporting. Super moves are basically suped up versions of specials, or they can be entirely new moves. Much like special moves, some can be used for purposes other than attack, such as healing. |

That was what I thought. When my character uses a Chaos Emerald, they buff their defense a little. Therefore making up for or 'Compensating' for their lack of defense. Are you still confused?
