Communism: Alright idea; terribly executed and doomed to fail anyway.
It doesn't fit in today's world. |

communism was never a good idea lol
it doesn't allow economic freedom. economic freedom is the main difference between capitalism and communism
what if the government told you that no matter how hard you work, you can only make a certain amount of money |

There's flaws to every system.
Personally, I'd be happy with that because I could work lazily and still get paid the same. But it doesn't give a good incentive to work harder, on the other hand. |

| Communism provides basic support and makes sure everyone isn't going to end up homeless. There were poor people, yes, being equal doesn't mean you have to be poor as hell. If everyone were to be mid class then would you be complaining? Remember the USSR fell because of spending too much money on military and freeing markets. Not because communism screwed them over. |

lol, by getting rid of private property? that means the people are tenants of the government
>There were poor people, yes, being equal doesn't mean you have to be poor as hell. If everyone were to be mid class then would you be complaining?
but being equal means you cant enjoy your work, and are limited in social standards too
>Remember the USSR fell because of spending too much money on military and freeing markets. Not because communism screwed them over.
what about cuba and vietnam? they live in shacktowns, what excessive military spending did they do |

"If everyone were to be mid class then would you be complaining?"
yes, actually, i would
some people actually get an education and get harder jobs for the sole purpose of getting more pay
you're just taking away their incentive
i'm assuming you're one of those scrubs that wants to remove the minimum wage |

So? You're living in a home owned by the government. Doesn't change much. If you're gonna say "No you can't fix jack to it" that is why the government funded companies are there to fix it for you
>but being equal means you cant enjoy your work, and are limited in social standards too
If you can't enjoy your work then why were there Soviet engineers building space ships. Why were there people who design vehicles? Because they are great at doing it and they like it. The education system helps people advance in what they want. It's not like asking a seal to climb a tree. If you're dumb then you might as well head to the mines. There are consequences too.

None. They used guerilla tactics to shoot and scare things. US of A had to interfere because they had to be stubborn and say "NU STOP COMMIES!". The citizens who didn't want the conservatives to go to war demanded the US to pull back. That is why Vietnam won and they grew the fastest despite some social problems. Cuba could be a thriving economy, but we have a trade embargo with them. The tourism money could really help them out. |

so you are not OK with "private sectors screwing us over", but OK with ownership of your home being given to the government?

you are acting like soviet workers had a choice. either work or die, they didn't have social liberties, you are implying they did

"despite some social problems" - im talking about economic problems, i don't care if same-gender relation is banned, or what religion is persecuted, i care about the poverty levels in vietnam, which is what we are discussing
and the tourism industry in cuba is not because of government intervention or political involvement, that is an outside factor.
