A Constitution of Values, a Guardsman's Character.

This document is a record and collection of all values, traits and behaviours that should be exhibited by all men who serve in the Confederate Republican Guard. In order to increase the moral and character worth of the Guardsmen, this document is to be read, studied and put into practice by all members of the Guard, in order to improve our operational efficiency through the improvement of the individual Guardsman.

-Respect-

The most important and broad reaching trait that is proper for a Guardsmen is respect in five forms. Respect ensures an effective and well run fighting machine, and respect in these five forms is to be shown by all Guardsmen on and off duty.

1. Respect for the Self.

The most important supply for any military force is weaponry. If a musket or sword is not properly maintained, it may fail to hold up when called into service in battle, and the same goes for troops. If the Guardsman is not properly maintained, he may fail to hold up to standards when called into battle.

The proper maintenance of the Guardsman first falls to the guardsman himself, who is responsible to maintain himself, and keep himself ready for battle. The way that a guardsman can show respect for himself as a weapon is through regular and continued training, dressing in a manner that shows he respects his post as a Guardsman, speaking and behaving in a mannor that reflects his position, and giving off the proper atmosphere of a self-respecting guardsman.

Behaviours that should be avoided much as possible by Guardsmen include.

Abbreviation of words. This makes one seem lazy. A Guardsman should always use words in full and respect and hold a command over our language

Excessive Crude Language. First of all, it can get you banned, and we do not want to come off as troops banned for poor control of themselves. Restraining oneself from anger and cursing shows self control and maturity.

Bored pacing or odd movements. Again to show control and self restraint, Guardsmen should refrain from stupid movements often found at forts such as, Jumping on people, jumping randomly, running for no purpose, drawing weapons and just firing randomly.

If you have nothing to do at a fort, be a Guardsman, and do one of three things, find a guard post and stand, patrol, or pair with another Guardsman and train. All Confederate forts are places that you are on duty, respect your duty and do it well.

2. Respect for the Fraternity.

In the Guard, we are more than a simple fighting division of the army, we are a fraternity, a brotherhood of confederate soldiers in arms, and you must respect the name as such. This section also includes Respect for your fellow Guardsmen. Respect the Guard as you would respect members of your own family, and defend and stand for the name of the guard with the utmost dedication.

With an array of guards who stand by one another as brothers in service of an organization that they hold to be greater than themselves. Be honored to serve the Guard, do not be expecting to be honored because you serve the guard.

To show you respect the Guard, there are a number of key things to do.

Turn to Authority to resolve personal conflicts. If you are having conflicts with another member of the Guard over some argument or fight, first, try to meet with the person and hammer out a deal with reason and wisdom. If this fails, take the issue to the high captain, who will mediate the issue, or post your jobs so that you do not come in conflict with one another. DO NOT spread rumours or slandarize members of the Guard for personal issues. There will be no rifts between the men of the Guard, to ensure we are not divided in any way.

Befriend other members. There has to be another Guardsman who shares some common interest, so speak with other members, organize social events, gatherings, etc. etc. This creates social and friendly bonds between members of the guards and ensures unity.

Do not speak of the Guard, it's issues, or it's problems to outsiders. We want to come off as a professional organization, and we can do that by not speaking of business outside of our halls and meeting rooms, wear your uniform with pride and show that we are a well run organization with no internal conflicts, and we come off professional.

Carry out orders and jobs without complaint or question. The High Captain will make no request of you that is impossible or beyond your ability, so do not complain or question the motives of the mission when tasked with it, serve and work with pride and determination, and all jobs will go smoothly.

3. Respect the Command Structure.

While one may expect that the respect of command structure falls to the basic troops, this is not the case, as the job of respecting how the group is commanded and run is the job of every man within the Guard.
When all men within the Guard know the bounds of their own and their comrades power, it allows the command structure of the Guard to flow smoothly.

(Please read the Command Structure manual before continuing if you have not read it yet)

Respect your post, job and your limits of power, and all will run well in the Guard.

4. Respect the Homeland and Cause

In the Guard, we seek to be the most fervent and zealous fighters in the cause of Confederate independence and sovereignty, and this must be reflected in the respect you show towards the cause we stand for. This can obviously been shown and it is expected that you do not insult the name or the cause of the Confederacy.

Another way this can be shown, a way in which you may not expect, is in argument. All Guardsmen should be expected to know history of the civil war, it’s politics and military side, so we can better argue the cause of Confederacy independence, and honor our generals and great fighters. However, if you find someone at a fort insulting you, the cause, or calling you racist etc. Simple ignore them. It is best to show self restraint in the fact that you know your cause is true and see no reason to argue with those who will never see our side.

All that falls into respecting the Cause, is the simple ability of each Guardsman to fight and give his all for our land and for the cause that we fight for, it is through this fervent devotion and righteous conviction that we achieve victory in the Guard.

5. Respect the heirs and rightful succession.

In the Confederate Guard, one main pillar of our existence is the upholding and protection of the tradition of succession to confederate generalship through the line of fireman. To elaborate, the Guard serves only those who have become General through the line of fireman. Fireman was the first and most powerful confederate General on roblox, and all leaders of the CSA to this day are, as we like to call “heirs” to Fireman.

The legitimate heirs of fireman are all Generals that lead the CSA who have been named heir by one of the heirs, or by fireman himself. The Guard takes orders and will only serve under the command of a General who has legitimately succeeded fireman, by being named by fireman himself or one of fireman’s heirs.

Another purpose of the Guard, is bringing all Confederates into the CSA Army or it’s service, and ensuring that the heirs of fireman dominate the entire Confederate population of roblox. This entails the spying on and undermining of Confederate groups not in service or owing loyalty to the CSA Army.

The two ways that this is displayed, is through constant service in the war to unify confederate Robloxia into the CSA Army and under the command of the heir of Fireman, and unrelenting service in the policing and enforcing of the Heirs rule to all Confederates.

Secondly, Guards are expected to serve no false confederate Generals, take part in no rebellions, and serve the heir of fireman, no matter how much you may hate him. Our oath binds us to serve legitimate heirs, whether we like them or not, for the good of the Confederacy.

To close, Respect in these five forms is the keystone in the values of all Guardsmen, and before anything, be sure you lay a firm foundation of respect for all forms of the Guard, and the rest of the values will follow in time with study.

-Patience-

As Guardsmen, contained within our very name is one task that we carry out with utmost dedication, Guarding. As a Guard you are expected to stand, stay quiet, and more often than not, refrain from events going on around you unless instructed. Guard duty requires patience, as the defence of territories at all times is a must for any efficient and well run force of troops.

Patience without complaint is a key trait. If you don’t have it, leave, we have to have patience in all operations as we are men meant to have control over ourselves, and being able to stand in silence without work or assignments is a MUST for all Guards.

Practice this by simply guarding territory alone, it will keep you active and keep our forts safe in case of a raid.

Again to emphasize the point of Patience, have it, or leave the guard.

-Honor-

While honor can often have is name twisted and bent to mean many different things, in the Guard, we have a definition of Honor, and expect each and every member of the Guard to live up to our code of Honor.

(Please read the Codex of Honor before continuing if you have not read it already)

Honor is an important quality and is necessary for every Guardsmen, and as long as every man adheres and stands next to the Codex at all times, the Honor of the Guard will forever be kept strong and together.

Adhere to the Code, or do not bother staying.

-Secretive-

The Guard is an organization set up to serve a single purpose, and we do this best without interference from the outside. As such, the Guard forbids discussion of the Guard or it’s business to outsiders, save the General if he so requests reports on business of the Guard. Do not conduct Guard business, meetings or any form of discussions in the presence of outsiders.

As well, the Guard asks that no discussions of religion or politics take place on Guard property or between Guard members, as these are divisive issues and create rifts between members that the High Captain wants not to have to deal with.

Keep the secrets of the Guard and keep information to yourself. Do not speak freely, and watch your mouth, the business of ours is ours alone.

-Observant-

As members of an organization which engages in spying and infiltration operations, each member is expected to be observant and to take note of what they hear or see. Always keep eyes and ears open for conversations you may overhear, references made between officers, or small gaps and flaws in fortifications of enemies.

As a Guard you must be always vigilant, always watching.

-Independent-

In the Guard, you must be able to think on your own feet, in the moment. All Guardsmen must be independent so as to be able to mould situations to their benefit. Guards are not to rely solely on officers and constant instruction to be able function on operations, as they must be able to carry out an operation with minimum instruction.

The High Captain and his Captains are meant to guide and help form the minds of the Guards into that of proper and excellent Guardsmen. If you require assistance, seek guidance on operation from the Captains, then carry out your operation. Independence will be recognized and rewarded, forcing officers to micro-manage operations will be recognized and not met kindly.

You are your own commander once you are in the field, use your knowledge and apply it, for you are a Guardsman.

-Optimistic-

Always look at and think of the Guard’s successes, and remember failures only so that those mistakes are not made again. With a positive attitude, the Guard will always maintain a positive atmosphere, one that will raise morale and ultimately increase our efficiency.

Keep positive, yet remember failures so as to not repeat them.

-Intelligent-

The Guard does not want traipsing idiots wearing our uniforms and blundering their way through conversations and battlefields. In this fashion, we want intelligent men to serve the Guard, and while not all are intelligent, one can at least display an intelligence.

Good material to study is obviously texts of the civil war, and books associated to the topic. Tactics and strategies, along with the history of the revolutionary war is also good material. “The Art of War” is always as well a good book to read, and there are many other books on warfare and philosophy that can be picked up and read by Guardsmen.

It is expected that men of the Guard are well read and intelligent, and do not run their mouths on topics they are uninformed about, as it will tarnish our reputation.

Read, follow the news, and keep informed, as it will benefit your mind and the overall efficiency of the Guard.

-Dutiful-

A Guardsman is of course expected to keep to his oaths, and fulfill his duty to the best of his ability. When assigned jobs, you see them completed no matter the obstacles, and follow through with every task given to you.

When no Guardsman slacks in his duty, we will be truly undefeatable

-Humble-

A Guardsman must think not of himself during his service of the Guard, and instead the things bigger than himself, the Guard and the cause. In your duty, do not think of yourself and what will be best for your career, or your progress, think instead of simply fighting for the Guard and the south.

When all Guardsmen disregard the self in their fight for the South, our loyalty will become unshakeable.

-Imaginative-

All Guards will at some point be dispatched on missions into enemy groups or territory, and they must have the ability to think outside the box, beyond the texts and manuals of the Guard. Thinking by oneself is a must for every Guardsmen, as the officers are not there to babysit you.

Each Guard must have a cunning and tenacious mind before the Guard is truly invaluable.

-Loyalty-

Above all things, a Guardsman must hold loyalty as a trait above all others, must hold himself in the highest scrutiny of his peers and officers, and must never turn his back on the Confederacy he fights for. Officers may abuse you and mistreat their posts, but that is because, as all humans, they are flawed, but as long as you know that the cause you hold dear and fight for is true, no corrupt officer will ever be able to crush you.

When all Guardsmen are Loyal to the greatest extent, we become shields from corruption.

In Closing

Through study and application of this document, and the instruction and teaching of this writing to the recruits and men of the Guard, we ensure the security of, and perfect the minds of the men who serve in the Guard.

With Respect, we know our place,
With Patience, we are not taken by surprise,
With Honor, we maintain glory,
With Secrecy, we preserve the fraternity,
With Observance, we find the enemy,
With Independence, we each command ourselves
With Optimism, we always see victory,
With Intelligence, we are respected,
With Dutiful service, we strive for victory
With Imagination, we are undetectable,
As Humble Servants, we serve our cause best,
And with Loyalty, we ensure a steeled foundation for the Confederacy.
