Was at a convention yesterday, and saw/tryed out the OCULUS RIFT, Which are cool revolutionary goggles (couldnt find a better thing) which puts you into the perpective of a in-game person, Heck, you can look around the in-game world in it!
Tryed it on, It was incredible.
So, Discussion about the thing? |

| You tried out the OR? What's it like? Does it give the actual illusion of being in a game or is it more like pressing your face against your screen? |

"It gives the illusion of being in the game!" Because, y'know, developers aren't able to make games that are immersive by themselves nowadays |

I'm excited for it
If only I'd gotten a hold of their dev kits I wanted to make some games of my own |

| I personally don't think or know that/if only the goggles itself can make the whole experience better. Maybe combine it with a 'gun-controller' or something. Also. If you play for hours your eyes will burn. lol |

Well, I know that if I get the Oculus, I'm getting the virtuix omni as well...And if the gun dosen't come with the virtuix, then I'll be getting that.
If the total is less than $1000, I'm buying!
(At the moment it seems that the Oculus and Virtuix Omni are going to be $500-$900) |

@rampage
Well, The Developer Kit was about $300 (via Kickstarter campaign), And since those are usally more expensive than consumer models, It may be under around $200, But, hey, We'll see when it comes out next year. |

@Altair: Are you freaking kidding me? Skyrim has great graphics in its time, the only reason you're saying that is because next-gen consoles are coming out. Besides, with the size of Skyrim, its graphics were amazing.

skyrim's graphics were disgustingly blurry, even with the 2k resolution textures.
and no, my PC has better specs than both next gen consoles. that has nothing to do with it. |

| And so I wonder how talking about the Oculus Rift turned into a argument about Skyrim's graphics. |
