Custom servers is an idea that I will probably expand on over time, but the idea at the moment is greater control of servers for developers. This includes several features to give developers more control over their games, who plays them, and how.
First off in the idea list is the single-player server. A lot of people have probably asked for this idea before, but if ROBLOX does progress on this path, single-players NEEDS to be an option. Currently there aren't many games that really require single-player, but as games like The Legend of Range's Cape and Legend of the Shattered Rune II advance the RPG genre, a need for single-player arises. Let me be clear, single-player is completely optional. When in the game's configuration you can choose whether or not to have single-player servers.
This is an idea to be expanded upon, so if you have suggestions for future versions feel free to leave one in the replies below. Like the idea? Be sure to say so! It always helps when people show support. Don't like the idea? That's fine, but if you say so, be sure to explain why so I can update this. Constructive feedback is always helpful. |

| The main problem I see with this is the fact there would be insane amounts of servers just so people can play alone, and this would begin to cost Roblox a lot of money. |

| The server could be hosted locally on the player's computer, or streamed as was mentioned in a future blog post. It could also be made a BC-only feature if they want to keep the costs down. |

I suggested this months ago.
There shouldn't be 'servers', because then there would be an insane amount of servers.
Instead, you are given two options: Single Player or the current server player. In Single Player, you play the game locally, of your PC, instead of from a server.
I elaborated in greater detail in the forum post.

There is already single-player; Play Solo. It is an optional thing for game places, And as far I know, You can play alone offline on the game(If you loaded the game before you lost an internet connection.
Pros; Its singleplayer Cons; People can copy the place Still, A safer Single-player mode is needed to replace the Solo mode. Supported From sticks to diamonds. ~11076 |

| Play Solo is not single-player. Play Solo is a build mode only for uncopylocked games. Even if I didn't mind uncopylocking the game, players would be able to build and destroy the game. |

| I support, but the Creators should get the option to allow them to play Single-Player or not. |

| They could also hold multiple instances of the place in the same server and instead let everything be client side like when you're in play solo. Basically, the server gives you the place, info, data persistence etc. but the game is run as if it was in solo mode (except it can't be copied) |
