On 07/14/13, I claimed ownership of x207th Legion late at night. I didn't really care much for the name, mostly because it was a ripoff of X-101st Legion's name, but it was a start. I started working on a makeshift fort, which would become Fort Bosphorus. I started recruiting right away and started making the uniforms the next day. I wanted to use normal swords to fight with and crossbows because that suits the style for the group. I wanted to have a group based upon the Byzantine Empire, which if you don't know, is the eastern half of the Roman Empire that spoke mostly Greek and fell to the Ottoman empire (Modern day Turkey) in 1453.
We use the Byzantine Empire's military ranks in the group. The definition and function of each rank is below.
Ranks: Baselius: The Emperor of the Byzantine Empire. This will be me, and me only. Strategos: The equivalent of a General. This is my 2nd in command. Ypostrategos: The Strategos's SiC. These are usually chosen by the Strategos. Also TiC. Akolouthos: Leader of the Varangian guard, which stands by me at all times. Members in this group are also apart of the Varangian Guard. Centurion*: Commander of 100 men. These are people who are very skilled indeed. Dekarchos*: Commander of 10 men. These are very devoted soldiers: Pentarchos*: Commander of 5 men. These soldiers show success in combat. Stratiotes: Common soldier, usually a new recruit.
* = Does not actually command this amount of men. These are what the men commanded in the Byzantine Empire.
