I am working as my friend's helper, he is 25 years old.
I'm painting walls.
Painting walls isn't as easy as it sounds, you don't just take the brush or the roller or paint, you have to rub the wall with a special paper that makes it smoother, then you paint the sides with the brush
*(because the roller can't go into small places, you use the brush)
And the centers of the walls with the roller.

I've learned a lot today, on my first day, and i'm going to keep working as a wall painter if everything will be okay..

Woke up at 6:30 AM, put my clothes on, brushed my teeth, took my food and went to an other city, an unknown neighborhood, painted a stranger's house...
Feels good.

Pretty sure we are smart enough to know how to paint a wall. It's definitely not some Albert Einstein project.

And it sounds more like a chore to me. But good job at being productive.

You don't just paint the wall, you make it smooth with the paper and then make a mix, put it on the holes to make it even more smooth, then you paint it a second time and it's ready.

It takes a long time, do you even paint?
It's not as easy as you thought.

How much are you getting payed? However much you get paid, you owe 60% of that to the new Finnian taxes that Congress made yesterday.

(We're painting a house that was destroyed by evil children and abandoned for at least five months, we also have to clean spider webs and try not to hurt the insects.

It's called sand-paper, and it's not necessary unless the walls have been already painted before.

@AP

we are painting a used house.
Most of the walls we are painting were painted before but from what I saw the people who painted it before us were so lazy that they used the roller to paint everything and left many corners unpainted.

Well the UN made worldwide Finnian taxes. To all countries, 60% of your earnings go to IceKingFinn938 called the Finnian taxes. We use it to prove for basic needs, fix war damages, etc.

Did you know that most bricks are hollow inside themselves?
By making the bricks hollow you are both saving materials and making it easier.
I know this because we visited our friend's friend who is a builder.
He is building something big in a big house!

"fix war damages"

What about just stopping wars?
Make wars a "crime against humanity", this will fix the problems.

Hey, we're just using taxes for useful things. Right now, we're at a high 60% rate. So I suggest you pay up after you get paid.

@qdh,

I agree with the others about it being more like a chore, but still nice job.

We paint walls that were already painted in the past, that's right, but it's a long time after they were painted, and the kids who lived in the house were writing names and drawing things on the walls, and the family just left, so they needed us to make the walls white again.
It is an interesting job, just holding the brush in my hands make me excited, the house will look awesome when we'll finish.

After that house we're moving somewhere more difficult, maybe the walls weren't even painted once there...

@dalz and the others

I'll try to be clearer now, If I paint walls that have been already painted in the past, I have to use sand paper and everything, and we paint it twice, we also put a grey thing mixed with water in the ugly places of the wall to make them smoother.

It is a hard and messy job, but I agree with you that just painting it is easy, but I do more than that.

And don't forget that you have to hold the brush/roller right, and don't use too much or too less paint, or you can ruin something!

I'm not doing something hard... but it's still not very easy to wake up at 6:30 when it's summer vacation and work almost 10 hours rubbing sand paper on walls and painting walls...

But it's feeling good, and that's what matters.
I don't need a very hard job to feel good.

Yeah, painting walls isn't difficult. It can be long and boring, but it isn't hard. Anyone can do it, really. You'll get into a pattern eventually and will find yourself painting walls with ease.

Okay, thanks.
But what about the furniture?
I have to move tables, closets, boxes, and heavy things to paint the walls behind them. It's also a messy job and that's why people hire strangers like me to paint it for them.
