I support the idea to have the outlines optional.
But seriously, the EBR guys and other pro builders are overacting way too much when some asthetic change like this takes place.
Take for example: Loss of bevels? What's the big deal with them? Sure your edges are no longer round, making some of what you built look really rigid and sharp, but it's not like your whole place just got cleared or destroyed.
On the other hand, loss of bevels allows dynamic lighting to be rendered much more efficiently. Basically, to get lights, you need to take away bevels. It's simple universal law; to get something you need to give away another.
What kind of builder can say that dynamic lighting was a terrible update?
Now to the outlines. While I personally don't like how it shows up on my guns, I'm not throwing a big tantrum out of it and quitting roblox just because it makes my place look "ugly". I don't see why the most "elite" builders of roblox can't do the same over something so trivial like this.
What I'm hearing: "Wow roblox, just had to make this dumb outline update with my bricks. I can't take it anymore cause it makes my professional place look ugly. Take it away or I'm quitting roblox because these lines look stupid. You guys ruined everything. I missed the old days... Goodbye roblox. " |

| The whole point of it being unified is that there is one thing that makes roblox recognizable. You can't just simply make it optional and say they are still unified. That ruins the whole point of this update. It either happens or it doesn't. People just don't get what Roblox means when they say unified. |

| I feel they should adapt the less used medium to that that is more used, by which I mean make terrain like parts rather than parts like terrain, or just include the outlines but only render them at the edges rather than where parts meet. |

I went and looked at some of the EBR places...
They look, to me, perfectly fine. I only see the outlines when I deliberately look for them, and they crispen and enhance the aesthetic for me. Even the trees in Metro look perfectly fine. |

Hmmm, loss of bevels was necessary for featherweight parts and dynamic lighting, these outlines are just introduced for the sake of it, a loss for no gain this time.
Although, admittedly, the outlines do look good in some cases. |

| I'm sure an equal amount of users would support the idea had they turned every part on the entire website pink, and there would be just as little of a performance loss. The point is that it's ugly because they did it wrong. |

Outlines are better than bevels but having nothing is even better than having outlines or bevels. Why do we need to be able to distinguish parts clearly in-game?
My suggestion is that they enable the outlines in the studio but disable them in-game and that they add a setting to disable them in the studio. |
