[This is an eemaIe (Dumb roblox filters) I sent to ROBLOX a couple days ago. I specifically said in the body and title not to give me an automated reply, and they did, saying to post it on the forums. I spent two hours making this and I despise the customer service agents already.] [Here is the message:]
Before reading: This is quite a long read, maybe around ten minutes of feedback and suggestions from me and the ROBLOX community. I’ve worked hard to try to bring these ideas to ROBLOX, but my suggestions were just shooed off by the automated replies I get. People don’t accept my ideas on the forums either.
-By this point, you might want to save it for later, when you’ve finished with your other messages.
Here are ideas I’ve made and that have been made by the community.
We want real responses from customer service agents! –This is from a lot of people. I’m not the only one whose ideas get shooed off from the customer service agents by giving me an automated reply saying that “updates are the only way to improve ROBLOX.” I’m quite compelled to think the customer service agents are bots with names. I’m not sure of you guys even read our messages, or if you only skim them for keywords and send us the automated reply..
What’s with all the rectangular buttons? –A lot of the recent website updates were simply replacing the previous, oval-shaped buttons with these humongous rectangular ones. I do not understand why you’re doing this, nor does anybody else. It doesn’t quite help, either. Sure, it looks more “trendy” and “modern”, but is there seriously a reason for it??
We’re being spammed with ads.... –NBC’s are always being spammed with ads. Even though I’ve got pop-up blockers, I still get pop-up ads when I’m looking around the site. I know ROBLOX isn’t THAT desperate for money! In addition, those who don’t use Studio to browse the site are getting annoying video advertisements while the game “loads”.
We miss the old leaderboard and chat! –The new leaderboard is kind of bland-looking and not helpful for players. They have to scroll down to see everyone. Pulling the thing down to expand it works too, but there are so many bugs with the leaderboard, such as it not showing certain players when they’re really on the game. The chat is also kind of awkward, as it has a lot shorter amount of messages showing at once. When the chat was first implemented, it would not allow me to say things like “b4nd 4ids”, “s-cks”, “st-pid”, or other things. It also sometimes stopped allowing you to chat. I couldn’t help it—I was a fast typist. People told me it was to prevent spam. I’m glad that was removed, but the chat is still shorter, and uglier...
The stamper tool is not a worthy successor to the insert tool. –When I first joined, all players that didn’t use ROBLOX Studio got to use the insert tool. It was a fast, easy-to-use tool; the only downside was that it sometimes stopped loading items. When 2011 rolled around, the stamper tool replaced it, and newcomers at the time saw ROBLOX as “just another Minecraft clone”. I stopped telling my friends about how great ROBLOX was, because they all played Minecraft, and they’d never believe me if I told them ROBLOX came first.
Do you have something against the classic ROBLOX looks? –Just about everything on the website that reminded me of 2010 was completely removed. Almost everything from around that time was “modernized”. I hardly remember what old profiles looked like, or the forums, or the Home page, or even the games page. I still have fond memories of pressing that beautiful “Play” button for the first time back in December 2010. Until recently, the only relic from 2010 was the Advertising page. Now that became part of the “Build” page, which brings up my next question...
Why are we forced to use the Build page to view our places, ads, models, etc.? –Before the Build page replaced the Places page in early 2012 or so, my items all had a dedicated page. I had the Places page for my games, the Advertising page for my ads, and for items, etc. But now that they all became part of the Build page, ROBLOX obviously had to restyle them. Argh. Now all actions for my places, ads, models, etc. was hidden under a submenu.
Why is everything under submenus now? –I’m not sure what’s been going on lately, but everything used to be easy, with a dedicated page and all. We used to be able to control our characters with a flick of the mouse. Now we have to look under submenus to do everything. That follow button next to where it said what place you are on? Sorry, moved into the “more” option. How about the People page? Sorry, under the “more” option. What about those pages for comments? Sorry, you have to click “More comments” a couple dozen times to find that hilarious comment your friend wrote on page 17.
We don’t need loading screens for EVERYTHING! –I remember when I first played games in 2010, it loaded up right away. Around early 2011, you introduced a swirly thing while it loads, and loading took much longer. Then as complaints came up, it was replaced with a ridiculous loading sequence. “Nerfing flux capacitator index...”, “De-noobing ectoplasm torpedoes...” It looked and sounded so ridiculous, but the worst part—I couldn’t play ANY games until you released a patch about a month later. Whenever I tried to play a game that would get in the way and it wouldn’t load. I let it sit for seven hours once when I went to school and it was still loading by the time I got back. It’s obvious that the loading screens were there for aesthetics, and not a really necessary part of the loading process. Now I see loading screens for the Home page too, and sometimes it gives me a message saying “Roblox is fetching your feed...” with flashy rectangles and it’ll keep doing that forever until I refresh it. Again, no loading screen was necessary, but you implemented it anyway.
Is Studio 2013 inferior to Studio Classic? –Studio classic was a faster, easier to use way to update and look around your games. When Studio 2013 released, users were constantly crashing and experiencing bugs. Users saw it as a debacle, and administrators saw it as a mistake. After the frenzy calmed down when the lag was reduced, people still found it unfavorable to Studio Classic. Among the reasons for this were the performance issues with it, the extreme bugs that it has, the lack of support from ROBLOX, and again, the submenus.
What happened to the built-in plugins? –After the update where the Toolbox was changed to look more “pretty”, some of the built-in plugins that helped me were removed. Among these were the orb tool, which created a huge ball of terrain with the set parameters, a tool that let you nudge the time of day without having to go into Properties, and my favorite, a plugin with a picture of a mouse, which you could use to hover over an area and it will tell you the coordinates of that area in all the different types, such as World coordinates and Terrain coordinates. Now you have to use a brick to determine positions...
The ultimate compromise, the ultimate solution. –This has been my master plan for quite some time now. This idea will solve all the problems between the people who like the updates and those that hate them. It will be in an options menu. You get to choose the looks from the time periods in ROBLOX, each area will be what the website looked like at the end of the year. People can choose which year suited them best. I’m definitely picking the end of 2010, as that was my favorite time in ROBLOX. Also, the newer features such as party chat can be put into the 2006 website. What you have to do is to recreate it with the same mechanics, but just make the style match with the rest of that time period’s site. Sure, what’s current could be the default, but I think ROBLOX should strive for customer satisfaction instead of what’s trendy. Just because Facebook does it doesn’t mean you should, too. ROBLOX is its own game, and it needs to prove it. In addition, you should be able to choose what kinds of leaderboards and chat systems to use. ROBLOX players should finally be able to remember the good old times instead of the memories being forced into the back of their brains by the updates.
I hope all you have read this. I really think ROBLOX can benefit not just from these suggestions, but by listening to the cries of their players. I hope I can get a real response instead of “updates are the only way to make ROBLOX better”. As a customer, my faith has been shaken beyond limits with these updates, and I’ve been on the brink of quitting lately. I wish this can help and that ROBLOX will finally change for the better.
Sincerely,
SupremeGoodday, ROBLOX player since December 2nd, 2010
[It was rather rushed and it doesn't have every suggestion I compiled, but it does cover almost everything in the game and website parts of ROBLOX. I hope you can agree on all this, thanks for reading :) ]

Agreed. I've been around since 09 (09'ers FTW!) and I know how you feel. Stamper Tool, Studio, even something as simple as the old GUIs. What about the old Exit, where you didn't have to hit Esc., Leave, then "Are you sure you want to leave". I like the idea of being able to change the website/everything on your computer.
Full support. (and I didn't even say TL;DR through this entire post.) |

Thanks so much! I'm glad you agree.
And did you notice the "Leave" button still flashes when loading games? Go old times :D |

Yes! And my old account (got deleted) I remember was from 07! Ah, the good old days. No "TBC" or "BC Places" or "Trade System". Everybody was equal. ROBLOX actually LISTENED to their players. (hard to believe, I know.) Everybody treated each other like family.
Where have the good old days of ROBLOX go? |

"We want real responses from customer service agents!"
If you've actually sent something and waited, you WOULD get "real" responses. If you've read the first response, it tells you that they have received your message and are evaluating it at the moment.
"What’s with all the rectangular buttons?
Who cares, honestly.
"We’re being spammed with ads...."
Get ad block. It isn't that hard... ROBLOX needs money, you know.
"We miss the old leaderboard and chat!"
The new one works much better than the old as with the scroll feature, you cal actually see ALL the players (or you can drag it to make it bigger). The new is better than the old as it isn't bug-filled at all.
"The stamper tool is not a worthy successor to the insert tool."
This is meant as a basic building tool for newcomers. If you actually want to build something good, use studio like every other professional builder. Build mode breaks scripts. Edit doesn't.
"Do you have something against the classic ROBLOX looks?"
There's nothing wrong with it. Just makes life easier, the website looks more professional, etc. Could of been some problems with non-Windows users or something, why it changed.
"Why are we forced to use the Build page to view our places, ads, models, etc.?"
I've never used "Places" or "Build", I just went to the actual game and pressed edit form there or went to the actual item.
"Why is everything under submenus now? "
In the ones you mentioned, only the "comments submenu" are annoying, but comments are pointless now because of spam. There are nothing wrong with the submenus as ROBLOX grows and develops.
"We don’t need loading screens for EVERYTHING! "
Let's think about this. Well, something is ACTUALLY loading. Deal with it. The only annoying one would be the game loading screen with the stupid messages. Then again, it is aimed for ROBLOX's younger, more common demographic.
"Is Studio 2013 inferior to Studio Classic?"
It was for the first month or so, but now it overpowers the Classic. RS2013 was meant to easily work for both Windows and Mac users. Plus, users are too lazy to adapt for the better.
"What happened to the built-in plugins?"
I don't know about this one... They could be hidden under one of your "submenus" (which I think they are). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I've said no to almost everything you said, with slight exceptions. |

| I've had a problem and have gotten over 20 replies with non-automated responses. Took a while to get fix, but then again with people like you sending them things that are already possible, they are overworked for no reason. |

That was in 2009 as well. To be completely honest, the only thing I miss about the "olden days" are:
1. No hackers. 2. All games were actually made by the creator. |

| Rocklee, does it LOOK like customer service actually did anything about this? No. The only update they did since I sent it was that "Like and dislike" feature. |

| Rocklee, get off your high horse and actually READ the post. All you read is the titles, as proved above. If you actually read it you'd know I have a popup blocker and that the ads are bypassing it. |
