| The US media has been idolizing drugs, violence, and s333x for quite some time now, and they wonder why there is gun violence, rayp, and excessive drug use. Not only that, the people who make movies and TV shows like that are the biggest hypocrites. Usually they tend to be liberals that say they appose gun violence and drug use, but turn around and make a movie where the main character is idolizing it make it look like a grand life to live, when in reality it is not. This hypocrisy goes towards the actors, as well. Right after the Sandy Hook shooting, there was a commercial of a good handful of actors saying "Enough is enough"(Hinting towards guns and how gun control is "Good") and I find it hilarious that every last one of those actors have been in a ton of violent movies. Now, before you say "Media isn't making kids violent", I will object. First off, do you know how stupid a child can be? He/She would probably look at a movie like that and think it is cool, try doing some of that crap, and end up in jail. My baby sister watches kid cartoons and tries acting out some of the scenarios. Monkey see, monkey do. |

"No effect at all."
No negative effect at least. |

I've seen it with my own eyes.
Rap has twisted a lot of young black kids minds into thinking it's the world against them. And crime rates can prove that. |

Anecdotal evidence isn't really, uh, reliable.
Crime rates don't tell us anything except the crime rate. |

| Media is responsible for many bad things. Just look at how they stirred up the Trayvon Martin Case. Now, if Zimmerman is freed, we'll be seeing riots across the US. |

Every song ever is about one or a combination of those things. |

Hehehhe... Christian Contemporary? Classical? Some rock songs (Granted, a lot do include those.
Trust me, violence in videogames, movies, tv, and music does effect. It desensitizes people to the violence. |

| There is NO connection between fictional and real violence. Art imitates life not the other way around. People keep on trying to draw things like "violent" (is it even truely violent considering that its not physical?) games and music to criminals. Well guess what for every sinner you can find the same items at 10 saints. Thousands of people watch violent movies ETC. yet dont cause crime and yet one does it and people blame fiction? No studies have concrete evidence of "desensitizing" (brain patterns can mean a variety of things). If you people want the true solution to violent crime we have to start looking at things like mental illness and poverty |

Just a few examples:
I hope you are all not dumb enough to think pirates are as depicted in things like "Jake and the netherland pirates."
But little kids start to think of pirates as they are in shows they watch. They think pirates are "cool" when real pirates are horrible people that turn to pirating because they don't want to make money in an honest, respectable job.
Some of you may think "Nobody would stupid enough to imitate that," but why do you think the commercials need to say "Please do not try this at home,"? They aren't joking when they say that. There are idiots out there that would try some wild stunt and get themselves killed. And in far too many shows and movies, you see people doing things all the time that should only be for married adults. When people see that in shows, it pushes them towards the depicted mindset, that it is morally ok to do that (When it is not.)
Violent movies/games desensitizing people to violence is far too true. Anyone who can't see that that influences kids attitudes, behaviors, and thoughts has either 1: Never seen a young kid who plays/watches violent things or 2: Been too blind to see it, and think that those attitudes are 100% natural. |

Studies show that violent video games:
1. Make people less violent (unless they're r-tarded or something) 2. Improve friendships 3. Reduce stress 4. Help PTSD patients who have fought in the war |
