I remember seeing that online when I looked up scores XD What else do you expect?
In other news, did you know Texas A&M is claiming two fake conference titles? |

minnesota was a much different team than TTU is used to facing. the big XII is filled with smaller, faster players. i remember minnesota's running back running over poor little DBs in the backfield. he was much bigger than them. the runningback even looked bigger than some of their linebackers. when minnesota got at least one lineman on a linebacker, it was over. ten yard gain. minnesota controlled the clock, and the ball (36:18 TOP)
222 rushing yards by minnesota throughout the whole game, and their leading two rushers combined for 137 of them. however, TTU could also run the ball, with a decent 145 yards on the ground. they could also pass too, leading to their victory
if they had a balanced possesion, TTU would've blown minnesota out. minnesota had a great strategy for that game, however, it fell apart at the end |

Not two fake conference titles, like five. Also one national championship.
I remember fellow 'Horns fans flipping out about that, and then protesting that we add one more national championship (2008) and like six more conference titles. lol |

@tato TTU has a good offensive scheme that was sorta shut down a bit though
you know, more of an air-raid spread with some backfield running |

That just shows you how poorly TT's coaching staff did that game. They didn't alter their gameplan.
Same thing happened when OU played KSU. OU wasn't able to prepare their players into a new game plan to fight against KSU's QB scrambles. |

i mean, it's rough when you gotta do that |

I don't know to be honest...
Either way, The assistants should have stepped up. They should know how things need to be ran. |

@sir air raid is easy to shut down. if the offense isn't on it for a series, it's a three and out and punt. that happens most often in the big XII
@jkid
it's very hard to change your gameplan for teams that are wasting the clock. you can't speed up your offence, because then you run the risk of giving the ball back faster to the other team (reason #1 TTU was down in the 4th quarter), who can waste more time. fortunately for TTU, minnesota wasn't a good passing team. when TTU stacked up against the run, they stopped it. but when minnesota tried to pass, TTU's DBs, who were very prepared for the pass, stopped it. |

yeah this is pretty true
WVU was EXCELLENT at air raid this season though. for the most part
most of the games they lost, blame it on the defense/DC |

I beg to differ. You just simply have to make them use their time quicker. You got to be more successful offensively. You also have to be able to stop those short passes and runs before they get big gains. Obviously they weren't doing that enough if Min. scored 31 points.
I never watched the game though so I have no idea what exactly went down that day. |

http://deadspin.com/5965252/college-shameday-who-embarrassed-themselves-in-2012-besides-usc-iowa-and-the-tom-selleck-impersonator-at-boston-college
"West Virginia's mid-season top-five ranking in the AP poll was its first since Rich Rodriguez blew town, but it was quickly followed by a streak of five straight losses, something the Mountaineers hadn't done in a single season since 1986. The popular explanation for that streak roughly amounts to "THEY AIN'T PLAY NO DAMN DEFENSE," which is not entirely incorrect. WVU did allow 9.6 yards per opposing passing attempt, worst of any team in the nation. Worst of any team from 2007 forward, actually.
But Geno Smith wasn't easy to watch during those five games either, scoring only 12 total touchdowns against five interceptions and three fumbles lost. Compare that with his performance in West Virginia's seven wins: 30 touchdowns, only one interception, and only two fumbles." |

I said most.
I realize Geno sucked for 2-3 games they lost, defense was the rest. |

"I beg to differ. You just simply have to make them use their time quicker." occasionally hard to do 3 yard run 5 seconds off of the clock 3 yard run 45 seconds off of the clock 3 yard run another 45 seconds off of the clock punt a whole minute seconds off of the clock
that's almost three and a half minutes off of the clock, and that's just during a three and out. at some points during the game, minnesota was taking 5 minutes off of the clock at a time just on six plays
minnesota had the ball for more than half of the game, 36 minutes infact
"You got to be more successful offensively." air raid offence is hit or miss. most often miss, but when it hits, it hits big.TTU had 2 INts in that game
"You also have to be able to stop those short passes and runs before they get big gains. Obviously they weren't doing that enough if Min. scored 31 points." it was more runs than passes
"I never watched the game though so I have no idea what exactly went down that day." fair enough |

2.4 TDs per game 1 INT per game in losses
compared to 4.3 TDs per game 0.1 INTs per game
in wins
geno shares the blame in some of those losses |

for geno smith in the air raid offense with all those elite players you were talking about, it is pretty bad
i'm sure joey harrington could put up better numbers |
