these are in order from best to worst.
1. not overvaluing - no explaination needed.
2. reasonable overvaluing w/ arguments - overvaluing an item by a reasonable amount (apx. 5%) based on solid, provable evidence like screenshots of inbound offers.
3. reasonable overvaluing - overvaluing an item by a reasonable amount based on unreliable evidence or no evidence at all.
4. unreasonable overvaluing (bias) - overvaluing an item by a large amount (usually 10%+) without proof.
5. undervaluing other items - overvaluing your own items, whether by a reasonable or more than reasonable amount, and undervaluing other items that you do not own in the same price range to make your items seem greater by comparison. rarely uses reliable evidence.
6. ridiculous overvaluing - overvaluing your item by a ridiculous amount. most of the time, you will truly believe your items are valued at what you think they are for levels (2) and (3), however, at this level, you usually stop believing yourself. ridiculous overvaluing is commonly used by owners of items that are dropping and/or have horrid demand.
7. making up inbound trades/offers - the lowest level there is. often goes hand in hand with unreasonable or ridiculous overvaluing. making up offers is a disgusting way to try to raise your items' values. these usually take the form of allegedly "copy-pasted" inbound trades or offers in item comments, but may occasionally be photoshopped or otherwise edited screenshots. making up trades and offers is usually ineffective. |
