1776-2008
American freedom and independence allowed inventors to benefit from their labor; therefore, it was worth the strenuousness of the tasks.
In a dictatorship, the government will take credit for an invention and not give the creator money for sales.
We've gone from oxen carts to Lamborghinis. We've gone from the Wright brother's flying contraption to jets that can travel 20 times the speed of sound. We've gone from telescopes to satellites that can take long distance images.
All in all, America laid the foundation to a technological future.
God bless the USA, and Happy B-day tomorrow America. |

@WPF
By radioactive standards, nuclear fission still gives off a pretty large amount of energy.

No because the Declaration was signed on July 4th of 1776.

@WPF
North Korea apparently had the resources. Not that they're functional enough to reach the USA though.

"no one is stupid enough"
countries like north korea
if they fire a missile, other countries are firing missiles
it's as simple as that

You say it like North Korea could get a missile to their intended target with no improvements to their current design. Trying to hit the USA will either result in the missile being shot down or falling into the ocean or one of the smaller islands of Hawaii if they fire East. If they fire west it will probably be shot down by the UK or other countries in Europe or land in the Atlantic
