Rewind today's events to this morning. My good friends drive me to the town they live in as we go on an all-day hiking trip. The hike was meant to last until 3:30PMish, but my friends had other plans in mind.
You see, I kind of stole one of my friend's GF last week, so they tricked me, took a shortcut and by the time I got where they parked the car it was gone. I was X many miles from where I live stranded and my phone had ran out of power.
Naturally I have amazing patience and felt fit enough to walk myself back home without my parents getting upset. The highway itself was straight on, but one side was blocked off by barbed wire fence (I fail at climbing up fences) and the other had a slippery decline into a river that snaked beside the road.
Since there was hardly any room on either side I cautiously crossed the highway and hopped on top of the median guardrail-thingy. There was a generous amount of space between the rail and where the two lanes were. I then proceeded to move on forward looking completely like a kindergartener trying to balance himself off the curb of a street while cars came by in both directions at 60MPH.
I can be quite fearful dude I admit. I am unnerved being in high up places and I get paranoid whenever I'm in the dark, but despite all that, this didn't register as dangerous in my mind. It seemed more as fun, entertaining and a tad bit of daring only because what I was doing was illegal.
I believe 4 hours went by when I felt I had reached the halfway point still balancing myself. (I have an amazing balance. If I wasn't scared of heights I could see myself a tight-ropiest) During that time I counted that a total of 27 cars honked at me, one guy slowed down a great lot just to cuss me out and threaten he'd call the cops. After that two dudes from different cars yelled that I was their hero. Another car passed me and this chick was halfway out of the passenger side window flashing me saying that she wanted me to [censored] her. Before the cops finally picked me up another dude hollered YOLO as he passed me. All of it made me feel like some kind of a hero.
I was then handcuffed and put in the back of the cop car as they drove to my hometown. I acted very politely to police without any back talk whatsoever. They checked my record and saw that I was clean and questioned why the heck I was behaving so recklessly with my life. I retold my story and my predicament not getting home.
I believe they were going to offer me some advice on that when the driver turned on his siren and arrested the guy who hollered YOLO at me. He was driving much slower than the other cars and I think he was pretty high. The officers handcuffed him and he sat next to me.
At first the guy stared at me like he was looking into my soul, but after a few minutes without blinking he realized I was the kid balancing in the median. Enthusiastically he stated how much respect he had for me and thought I was cooler than s***. Apparently this guy's record was the complete opposite of mine and he thought I was deep in with the police as well.
The cops drove as he started telling me stories of how he had a few run ins with the police himself. The words "right to remain silent" echoed in my mind, but I held my piece. The officers only grunted disapprovingly that a felon such as he was tainting me with tales of misconduct.
After his story of how he performed a grand theft auto he wanted to know what I been up to followed annoyingly with a "man?" at the end of each sentence. I felt a strong urge of peer pressure forced against me, and despite him being the low life he was I felt I had a reputation to behold. So I made up a story as I told it. I admit I really fail when it comes to telling realistic and believable lies especially making an entire story out of one, but I had to give it a shot.
When I finished my story was so poorly constructed that even a little kid would have thought the whole thing was fake. In a nutshell I told the YOLO dude I stole a couple of adult beverages and shanked 5 cops and two attack dogs. (Seriously, looking at me and you can tell I couldn't even hurt a fly.) The cop in the passenger side thought the whole thing was amusing while the other one was as silent as the grave. I could still see the faintest of smiles on his face and I was given the impression that for the greater good neither of them believed my story.
As for Mr. YOLO dude he stared at me like I was Jesus Christ, which he soon started praising me saying I had some serious swagger. Apparently he hadn't gotten off his high yet, that or he wasn't very bright to begin with. He said he really needed to hook me up and demanded I give him my name. I didn't want to join his club, but he was too excited to be turned down. Instead of saying my real name I told him how to spell a fake name. It didn't take much to get him to believe that it was better if I spelled so he could write it down later. He thought that was very smart on my part and so I spelled out E-A-T-A-[censored]. I whispered it so the cops wouldn't hear me as the guy began repeating the letters and built a rhythm to them so he wouldn't forget. He didn't even realize what that spelt out which made it all amusing.
At the police station I finally got a break from the YOLO dude and I waited in the waiting room as the cops called to have me picked up. As you guessed they weren't pleased and I had to tell my whole story all over again. My dad had a private chat with an officer and we left.
On a very sad note I am now grounded. :<
On the flipside they don't know I have over-rided their parental controls on my computer. :>
In all I say I had a good day, but I will probably regret it tomorrow. |

| @boiledeggtwin, I had a really good view of the highway. It was all flat ground and I crossed when I had more than a surplus of time needed to cross it safely. |

@koopa, I'm not sure if you're like me, but unless you're my friend, I'll avoid you. As I am shy in that way. |

@BCChainBroken, You seem nice enough to be my friend. Despite my fears I can be somewhat of a social person, but not exactly shy when confronting the YOLO dude.
Wanna be friends? |
