| The sales of used games is much bigger, and its basically the same thing save for the person selling it nets a profit. |

It's more indirect than preowned sales.
This is my theory.
>pirate downloads game >game which could have been sold new/preowned @ game retailer >game which funds said retailer >retailer loses money >retailer cannot stock as many new games >retailer fails to sell used games >developer loses out on profit. |

| I only Pirate things that I pretty much know I 1. Won't like (Who gives about demos,oh wait, they didn't exist at the time) and 2. Know that I will never get. (Seriously, who has the time to buy a SNES in 2013) |

Nobody gets paid
Imagine you made a video game that its budget was almost all of your money
Now imagine you not getting paid for it because somebody illegally steals your game. |

| Because it's a disgusting immoral practice with no justifiable reason to practice it. Seriously, just buy the game. |

My theory is this. Person pirates a game that they could buy at a store. Store loses money if person pirates. If store loses money, then the store can't buy as many games if store can't buy as many games, then the developer doesn't get money if developer doesn't get money, they will stop making games eventually
it hurts the store and the developer and if you like the games, then don't you want to support the developer?

I see. Piracy (under the guise as used games) is completely OK as long as some money is involved.
If you take money away from used games sales, it IS piracy. |

What if they pirate games from the 70s, 80s, and 90s.
I don't think that will hurt anyone. |

Used games retailers have a ton of money.
They order as least new games (because the developer gets some money in the sale of it) as possible, use aggressive tactics to make people trade the game in, and remove the new games off the shelves and replace them with used games that cost around 10 bucks less.

Piracy is the illegal distribution or reproduction of copyrighted material, which is different from the publisher selling the game for free.

Piracy is what killed the PSP, and if you pirate a game because you say it isn't worth your money, it must be worth something if you're pirating it
Never tell me the odds |

| I'm not trying to justify any of them (i actually hate both). I just see why one is praised and one is hated when it is basically the same thing. |

I only pirate games if I want to do something with it
For instance, I own a copy of Super Smash Bros. Melee, but don't have an Action Replay, so I downloaded an ISO of the game to have easier access
Also to do net play too but that sucked a lot |

It is.
I just can't get why (other than ignorance) why people got so defensive about used games but are offended by piracy. |

because people are still supporting the industry of games in general buy buying a game from someone whether it be a gamestop or from a friend because they might use that money to buy more games therefore helping the industry
