Are you new to ROBLOX? If you are, you should read this tutorial, as it contains many useful things you may want to use in-game. If you're done reading this, you may be an experienced player in a couple of minutes!
1. Introduction You're done with registering. You have your own place, character, a little of money and an unique ID located on the top of your character. A "Place" is a place, where you can use your imagination and build many things!
2. Building Your Place There are 2 possibilities to build on your own Place. - Edit (Studio) Mode, - Build (Solo) Mode. You alse can get your own Personal Server, for which you need a membership called Builders Club. We will surely talk about this later.
Let's start with the Studio Mode. To build with studio mode, you either log in to your account from the studio, and then open up your profile. After that, click the "Edit" button. You will be directed to your place, and will have a possiblity to roam with your camera, where you will want. You also can open up Edit Mode from the "Build" page. It's on the top of the site. To insert a brick, you should open the Toolbox. It's on the left of ROBLOX Studio's screen. If it's not there, don't worry! To open the Toolbox, on the toolbar, located on the top of the Studio screen, there is an icon with 2 crossed wrenches, one is blue, one is orange. Try to build a house. (Tip: To copy and paste a brick click Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V) If you built one, you may want to save your place now if you want. To publish your place for public use, click "File" located on the upper-left corner of your screen. Click the "Publish to ROBLOX" button. Congratulations! Your place has been saved.
Let's proceed to the Solo Mode. To build with solo mode, you basically go to your profile and click "Build", or if you want, go to the "Build" page and click the "Build" button. You will quickly be transported into your place, but being your character. Now, if you ever played a game called Minecraft, it's pretty much simliar. Open up the first tool, called the Stamper tool. You get access to many bricks, like grass, sand, stones etc. There also are categories, if you want to build something space themed or house themed. There are many possibilities. The rest of the tools don't need to be told about, as their images represent their correct use. Except the last tool, that has the classic tools, like paint, move, set material etc. They also represent their use.
3. Character Everyone gets a character on the beginning. There are a few categories to sort all the items you have: - Hats, - Gear, - Shirts, - T-Shirts, - Pants, - Packages, - Heads, - Faces. You can buy all of those from a place called the Catalog. You buy those items for virtual currencies called ROBUX (R$) and Tickets (Tix).
Hats are like hats, which you wear yourself. They're for your plastic ROBLOXian character, which you can buy with ROBUX or Tickets.
Gear is an item, which you can bring to a game and equip it. There are mainly weapons, handy items like potions and many more. Only buyable with R$, unless there's an event. We'll talk about events later.
Shirts are just shirts, which you can wear everywhere. Express yourself!
T-Shirts are like additions for your Shirts. They're images for your ROBLOXian torso.
Pants are to wear too, because you can't run anywhere without any pants on, right? They basically cover your legs.
Packages are a BC-only feature. They are morphing your body into many possibilities like a robot, or a knight! There's a package that is for people without BC. They use to be bought with Robux.
Heads are also morphable. They can change your head to ex. a box! Only for R$.
Faces are items that make your face look more happier, or even sad, if you want. Buyable for R$.
4. Virtual Currencies R$ and Tix. We talked about this before, didn't we? To earn Tickets, you basically have to login everyday. Everytime you login (after 24 hours, of course) you earn 10 tickets. They're used to spend them on many items, like Shirts, Pants etc. ROBUX are a currency, which you can earn only by exchanging your Tickets. Used to buy more things. You can also get ROBUX by buying it, or by purchasing Builders Club.
5. Memberships There is an optional membership called Builders Club (BC). There are a few awesome benefits when you buy it. You can buy a monthly membership, a membership for 6 months, for a year and forever. ROBLOX has three different BC types: - Builders Club (BC) Basic membership. You can have up to 10 places active, earn 15 ROBUX everyday and get a bonus hat. There are many more features, but these are the main ones. - Turbo Builders Club (TBC) An upgraded BC. Place limit is 25, you get 35 R$ everyday and another hat. You also earn a bonus gear item. - Outrageous Builders Club (OBC) A BC type with totally many benefits. Place limit is 100, earning 65 ROBUX everyday and a couple of hats, counting the hard hat! You also earn a gear item.
6. Events Everytime, or at unexcepted times, there may be an event, like Halloween, which is actually exceptable. By unexceptable I mean ROBLOX is sponsoring a film or such thing. During events, you also have a chance to earn exclusive hats or gear!
7. The Community Sometimes people can be rude, sometimes friendly. I recommend you to be friendly. Also, if you ever get called a noob, ask them what does a noob mean. (it's a new player!) There are Forums, which have many categories, like Off Topic - post whatever you like, although it shouldn't be rude! To add a play as your friend, you can either find them in-game, click their name and click "Send Friend Request". If the player's not in-game, you can add him/her on the site. Click the "More" button and click "People". Search your friend's name and go to his profile. Send him a friend request! He will surely accept! -------------- Tips: 1. Trading Currency When you trade currency, you actually can make a little profit out of it! This thread may be handy to you, and be useful in the future. http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=98090371
2. Money Making If you want to earn money, you may want to do something about it. If you don't want to buy BC or ROBUX, you just need to create a game that is pretty interesting and cool. If you have BC, you can also make a nice fashion collection by creating Shirts or Pants.
3. A handy BC trick When you buy BC, it is optional to put your friend's name in there. That friend can be your alternative account (alt). It's called a referral. When you refer your alt, create a T-Shirt that costs 400 R$. After that, log into your alternative account. Search for the T-Shirt and buy it. Congratualtions! Now you have more money than you wanted from the referral.
4. Free hat Everyone loves hats. Especially free hats. If you want one, you may want to verify your acc0unt. To verify an account, you go to the "Acc0unt" page. Click the button under the "Change Pa$$w0rd" button. Put in your Mail Address and your pa$$w0rd. Log into your Mail and verify the acc0unt. (if the message is missing, seek around your spam/junk folder!) That is also handy, if you don't want to be hacked. -------------- Hope you enjoyed! Please, if you have a new friend, make sure to show him/her this tutorial. If you're gonna say TL;DR, don't post it, as nobody cares for that. If you have any questions, please ask on this thread. |

@Centurians If that would be spam, the thread would be badly rated by people above me. |

| I think it should have said: "There are 2 ways you can edit your place. Build, and Solo. Both are terrible, so don't bother." |

I just saw a mistake in a line from number 7, the community. Fixed version below: To add a friend, you can either find one in-game, click their name and click "Send Friend Request". |

Correction: A "Newb" is a new player, but a "Noob" is another thing. A noob is someone who is really bad at a game, a jerk, has very, very bad grammar, or something similar. Newbs are just new, and a lot of the time, are friendly, and have better grammar. Example: (Noob and newb in an RPG) Newb: "Hey, do you know where I can get an Infinity Blade?" Noob: "w3r u get 1nfinity bl4dez?" (Noob and Newb in a building game, being griefed.) Newb: "Hey! Please stop destroying my base!" Noob: "0gm nublet del3tin mah b4ce g3t out n00b!!11!!!!!11111 i r3portz u!!!!1!!!!!111111!!111111" |

Tell me then, how the word "noob" was made? Because it's pronounced almost the same as newb. So basically, it's the same thing. |
