Additions to Priviet's story and stuff

A thread related to the development of a United States Colonial Marine Corps raidable area that is under developement. There are two versions, the large and original version (USS Nebraska) and the smaller, more compact and balanced version (Priviet Point).


Story-based details for the USS Nebraska version:

The USS Nebraska, suffering critical damage from unknown assailants, has been forced down onto an unknown planet. The surviving USCM troops must hold off the attackers and protect a high-value target – HVT.


Details related to this version of the game itself:

Isolated USCM spawn in-cave, using spawn-tele system of sorts (Use a GUI or perhaps locking and unlocking teleports to go to areas you can spawn at)


HVT will vary from Flight Recorder to Xenomorph egg, Egg to NPC Captain

Raider Basecamps – Main Camp will have everything and will be heavily defended

A few side-exclusives (Raiders get M42C, USCM get Smartguns, for example)


Other things

USCM will have to scavenge for some things, such as Sentry Guns

USCM Spawn with one working Cheyenne

USCM must buy Cheyennes at 1.25x usual price

Raiders spawn with no usable Cheyennes, but spawn with a working APC and Tank.

If HVT is held for two minutes by USCM-aligned forces, then it teleports back to the ship.

A few possible easter eggs; A Derelict in the background, maybe a destroyed colony




Story-based details for the Priviet Point (Smaller, more balanced) version:

A USCM Cargo Ship has been destroyed by unknown attackers over LV-452. Said attackers are moving in to recover its cargo. The Colonial Marines will not allow this. To win, either side must secure all control points.



Details related to this version of the game itself:

The USCM and Raiders spawn in unreachable areas.

Spawn Areas consist of Cryo Rooms, Armories, and a hangar.

At the hangar, troops must board a dropship that ‘leaves’ every thirty seconds to deliver troops to their destinations (A GUI allows them to choose where they are teleported (Captured Control Points, defaults spawns) when the ship ‘leaves’)

Both sides can buy everything from the beginning




Things that both versions share:

A buyable weaponry/vehicle, somewhat like the one at the MB Capitol

Economy system functioning on time in-game and kills

The vital and important Control Points (Some provide flanking positions and vehicle shops)

Randomly-spawned and regenerated weapons, vehicles, sentrygun cases, supplies to scavenge

Custom weaponry will be given to those who have unlocked the right to get them (IE, if General Go has a custom SADAR, he gets it automatically)

Troops will have loadouts that can be customized (IE Player A bought an M4RA, he can equip it on spawn to replace his M41A)

Vehicles will have ‘Loadouts’ as well (Will cost more)

Vehicles will function with a welder via GUI to ‘repair’

USCM will have reduced cost for buying vehicles and weapons, but only at default spawns.

Raiders can buy everything from the start

Auto-Brick Cleanup script to try and avoid lag

Control points take 30 seconds to capture

Any marines have anything to suggest?

How about marines can buy certain Attachments to weapons say Silencer's Red dot's scopes,under barrel grenade launchers ect

Maybe a few rogue aliens, just soldiers and drones and have them spawn at the eggs so you have different things to fight. Like, if you go and explore then you'd get attacked by an alien. I know it'd make it harder but on LV-426 there were hundreds of Xenomorphs.

What about the raiders get theese attachment as well? At the same prize as we get it, of course!

War: It's a good idea, but due to limitations at the moment the only things that would be useful at this time would be sniper scopes, silencers, and underbarrel attachments. Red Dots Sights and all that would be mainly for aesthetics.

Charizard: A nice idea, but this is meant for raiding, and AI would lag the place up a bit.

Norway: Both teams would get access to the same attachments, but I believe raiders should pay a small tax of sorts on them.

All in all, though good ideas so far.

Crashed UD-4L as main point, raiders must install malware and steal USCM information, USCM has to steal the dsl. Raiders and USCM have a choice of these misc items: PDA, Cornbread, MT, and repair tool. PDA is required for a win on either side.

Both Versions: Attachment buying.
Priviet Point: Middle CP is a crashed UD-4L, and when captured will either A. Allow access to special Scavenge-Points or B. Allow access to USCM team chatter, and in either case extra income flows.

Addition to Priviet's Story, and something that will decide the terrain types of the map.

Planet: BG-193

Terrain: Rocky and jungle-like in some areas.

Air: Breathable but green.

Gravity: A bit lower than Earth's.

Colonized: Yes. Partially in the highlands, the planet serves mainly as a military installation, orbiting binary stars, but far enough to support rainforest-like temperatures.

Region of Priviet: Ancient volcanic lowlands in the far north, little vegitation, little water.
Nearest USCM installation: A remote USCM outpost, Priviet Point, in the general center of the area.

Basically this means little vegitation, little water, dark stone terrain, and a green tint on the planet.
