| Sudan is Muslim while South Sudan is Christian. Sudan was killing all the Christians. It was a religious conflict. |

| The Arabs in northern Sudan and the black African ethnic groups in southern Sudan had a lot of conflict and violence between each other. All because of the colonization of Africa by the Europeans |

They're only called Arabs because of the language.
Have you actually seen some of them? I lived in an area with lots of Sudanese in Qatar. |

| This had nothing to do with religion - it was pretty much a civil war between the north and the south. |

| Lol no one wants to build an embassy in Jerusalem because it would be sacked and burned by the time it was finished construction. |

The majority of South Sudan is Muslim - not Christian . It was the oil fields in the south that cause most of the trouble. |

| I'm not saying that we should genocide the South Sudanese. I am just saying that those Southern rebels ought to be stopped. |

It's Africa, the African borders are messed up, I mean Egypt in a right angle. The borders aren't based off of anything geographical or cultural.
In Europe you have the Alps as the Italian borders, some other mountains between Spain and France. The borders are based on something, they're not random.
In Africa the borders were drawn by the Europeans, they essentially took the organic map of Africa, ignored it, and drew new borders which put people of the same culture in different countries and people of different cultures in the same country. |

There seems to be quite a lot of misinformation here. This is a subject I am quite interested in, so I'll try to correct anyone who is incorrect.
"In Africa the borders were drawn by the Europeans, they essentially took the organic map of Africa"
Surprisingly, you are correct in a sense. I like to think of the borders as a way to show which European country owned how much of Africa - they are just borders of former colonies.
"The majority of South Sudan is Muslim - not Christian . It was the oil fields in the south that cause most of the trouble." "I misread, the majority is Tribal-like religions."
Nope my friend. This is where you are wrong. South Sudan has a Christian majority and a minority (yet quite a large percentage) of local indigenous beliefs. You can see why there is a slight feud from this. The Christian South and Muslim North do not get along well.

The Islamic Arabs in the North and the Christian Native Africans in the South have been fighting for centuries over land.

"The Islamic Arabs in the North and the Christian Native Africans in the South have been fighting for centuries over land. "
That is part of it. It has several factors, indeed. The main ones I can pin point would be: - Desertification - Racism - Religion - Long-term Feuds - Oil (Surprise, surpise...)
