| Cylindermeshes don't work with materials, but turning a block into a cylinder leaves that little X. I never understood why it was there, but certainly by now it should be simple to get rid of it. So why is it still there? |

I have no idea why they are there but I totally agree that they ought to go. Support.

I guess it's there to signify the middle of the cylinder, for use in making vehicles etc. Though motors are put into the middle as default. -Do not summon me again!- |

In which case it should be optional. Or hey, use the movement handles (the arrows--I don't know what they're called) to find the middle.
Besides, they were *always* around, and I was here before vehicles so I know. |

Don't use a cylindermesh, go to the part's properties. Look for the Shape property, and then change it from Block to Cylinder.
Just adding a cylindermesh doesn't change its physical shape, nor does it allow materials. |

Yes, but surely it could be made invisible.

You know when you click on the transparency and an extra 3 zeros and a decimal pop up? example:
Transparency: 0
*clicks on Transparency*
Transparency (after) : 0.000
Make it 0.999.
It makes it COMPLETLY invisible, except the X's

Cylindermesh doesn't have materials, which looks weird in some cases.
Granted, though, just adding materials to the cylindermesh would make me happy in this case. |

Support, I have the same problem. In the old old days before universal seats, we actually had a drive tool, like the plane tool. Y to start, X to stop, XYX to quickstop, B to barrel roll etc. IMO, it was better. You needed to align the cylinder with the chassis otherwise the wheels wouldn't calibrate with the script and blah blah blah. |

The X's mark the middle of the cylinder. Also, it makes it easier to tell which parts of the cylinder are the sides. You'd think that it'd be common sense to know which side of the cylinder is which, but with certain colors it can be hard to see.
Nonetheless, support. |
