| They're literally almost exactly the same, the only differences being that Xbox players need Internet to play and can't buy used games (and therefore saving $5, all while denying the publisher any and all income from the sale). |

| Buying used games isn't a bad thing. Otherwise, people who don't have sixty or fifty dollars to spend on a new game they want when it releases. Who cares if the company don't get their money? They've got loads of money. |

Buying used games isn't a bad thing.
--- it isn't bad, its comparable to a crime.
buying used games is bad because you only add to the empire of greed that is GameStop.
Gamestop gets around 15 bucks for a new game sale and the rest goes back to the developer. They get the whole pie for used games, not even giving the developers, who made the game, a singe cent.
Gamestop makes deals to developers (which they must take because they are so starved for funds) to add incentives to pre-ordering, which gives Gamestop the advantage of exactly how many new games to buy.
Once the pre-orders get the the game, play it, Gamestop has aggressive trade in policies for in store credit and direct cash back. They go on to list those games as used, take down or limit stock of the new ones, and price the used game around 10$ lower than the new ones.
Then a person buys that used game for 50$. Gamestop just made 50$.
Basically, when used games are in play, developers have to compete with their own game. Used games are cheaper, so guess what gets bought more?
The more games that are sold as new, the more money developers make. The less games sold as new, the more money GameStop makes.
Otherwise, people who don't have sixty or fifty dollars to spend on a new game they want when it releases
true, but digital distribution often has the savings of used games without the economic damage to the developers
. Who cares if the company don't get their money?
games cost a ton of money, and the developers worked their asses off to make it.
They've got loads of money.
you mean the publishers do |

"Otherwise, people who don't have sixty or fifty dollars to spend on a new game they want when it releases."
If old games stopped existing, it would be like Steam where every game is cheaper and the publishers simultaneously get every penny they deserve. Instead, they have to charge outrageous prices for new games.
"Who cares if the company don't get their money? They've got loads of money." If everyone had your mindset, they wouldn't for long. |

| You know what I mean by "company". If the game is old, than why would the publisher even want to make money off of it anyway? They make I don't know how many games after those. I shop for games at Gamestop. Because I don't think it's worth to pay fifty to sixty dollars on a game I may or may not like. It's safer to buy it cheap so that way a lot of money isn't wasted. Could also pirate the games but I prefer to actually pay for the game and own a legal copy of it. |
