Alright so I have an idea about making a game, I'm more of a game designer that helps the community of RBLX in some way, so here is my Idea.
Name: Mix and Mingle
Vision statement: All Robloxians should have friends, here at Mix and Mingle thats an important thing and we try to make that happen!
Bits and pieces: In-game store with social items, lobby, mix and mingle AREA, And PVP places to fight your new friends or to see peoples skill to add in your group, Offices for groups, basically group leaders can buy an in-game office where members can meet.
Thumbnail is needed if I make this game.... Maybe I can start a contest...
~Sincerely Bakubaku Thanks for reading and your suggestions! |

I think what you have here is a masterpiece! I would invite my friends here just to hang out if what I am picturing is what it would look like.
Have you ever been to a large YMCA with a bunch of activity areas such as Basketball, swimming pool, jogging track, etc?
You should create something like that.
A two story building with a large room (mix and mingle area) with a part over head where you can see people fighting. A room on down the hall with a spawn and couches. If you have downloaded the new in-game shop plug-in for Studio, you could create game passes and use the studio plug-in to make the shop. If you don't have that and want it I am willing to make it for you if you play my game at least once when it comes out. :)
You could have another hall somewhere with a bunch of offices branching off and people can own them. I have a script for that, but you must play my game twice! :D
Well this is just like my notepad for my game. Have this here and that there. But if you need anything else, just ask!

Good Idea, I should put the first floor as the mix and mingle place, adding a hallway on the side, for the offices then on the second floor I could do areas such as a pool, basketball and soccer. Also maybe a gymnastics area? I nned a heads up on that idea. Also I do have the plug-in for ingame store. I need a little more advice though, any more suggestions?

Alright.
The gymnastics area would be very hard to create. This is because gymnastics are easy if you have the right scripting knowledge and the right tools. But there is so much you can't do with gymnastics on ROBLOX either.
But, if you want your place to have more, add an empty room with the floor mats they use in gymnastics. You could call the "multi-purpose room." There people can run around and have fun. You could also, maybe, put a balance beam somewhere there. I don't do gymnastics, but I like to fool around with the balance beam and test my balance and things like that.
You could also add a GUI, that will require much scripting, and make it like the "equipment room" where it lists everything for each room. What would make it really awesome is that a different menu shows when you open it in different rooms.
The in-game store is good for like adding catalog items. You could add the basketball gear with the store plug-in so people can buy it there. But if you want profits from the basketball you could add it to your game by going to the gear and clicking "Add to Game".
But I think what you should do before you start scripting and adding GUIs is to just build the game. Outline first is what I do. I start with the floor. The first floor and build walls on the floor. Then if I have a second floor I do it the same way.
Just like a real construction worker. They always build the frame first. They then do the interior such as floor, walls, window, etc. Once that is all done and inspected, they put in the furniture. You build the walls windows and everything, then you put in the furniture and stuff.
I hoped this helped! If you have any questions, ask!

Wow dude, thanks so much! I really appreciate your support and I think that it would be a good idea to maybe notebook it first? For a outline of the overall subjects of the game and the Gui scripting codes maybe? Anyway, thanks a ton for all of your help, you will be remembered in the process of this games creation, who knows- this game could make it to the front page along with your "Last Breath" concept. To thank you I may do something special in my game. Thanks a ton!

| I'm willing to help, listen, you've got a great idea, and I love how you have an emphasis on social interaction, but the build quality is mediocre. Also, you seem to be wanting to stride toward a role playing environment with things like menus, and gymnastics areas, where players are expected to use their imagination. I for one hate fake food in games, because it makes me hungry, my point is you should create minigames, or activities for players to do that actually function, and do not rely on imagination. Such as, a paintball field (wherein you can play paintball), an area where you can build (no stamper tool!). Uh, I'm kind of sporadic here, but the big thing you want to do is take the build quality up, this looks like something I'd see on Roblox in 2008, not 2013. The idea is classy, and goes back to those good qualities that make a good game, but the environment is just not the strength to push this forward. |

@lorenzo
If people are busy killing with paintball guns and trying to get away from people who are killing you, then how do you bond with people? First of all, to talk, you would have to run and type at the same time, or just stand in one spot and type. But if someone just keeps killing you or spawnkilling you over and over, you aren't gonna like that person too much, when really they are a nice person but can kill people easily. Where as, if you are walking around the building you can chat to people. You could have a capture the flag where you just tag people and they lose the flag, better than killing them.
The swimming pool was a great idea! People could swim.
This is kind of a role play and kind of an activity center. People sit in the lobby or in the mix and mingle area and talk. People can go shoot hoops in a basketball court with someone. But killing each other sounds like no fun at all to me. People want to come in and meet people, not get their brains blown out but some guy who knows how to kill! That's why there are all those other places. Now, a laser tag arena in there would be really cool!
My picture of a mix and mingle area is where people are all gathered around talking, not killing each other. But that is just me!

The pool update is complete Santifire and Krispy, I also am thinking about creating the basketball arena on the backside off the second floor along with supports under it. But I could also put a basketball area in the direct second floor. If I did that I could put a Laser tag arena in the back side of the second floor. First off, the second floor is empty now- (its more of a acsess area really) but I could always add a basketball place there (also the flooring is transparant so the mix and minglle goers could watch a basketball game from the comfortabillity of a couch with their friends- and bond over that. Also single servers with only one person having no fun would be wiped out with the basketball area, because they could shoot hoops single. Anyway, thanks for the ideas, cya!

Yep looks like my updater has broke the news of our ideas to you! Tell us what you think about these new ideas and also post where you think the basketball area should go
1. On the second floor directly 2. on the back of the second floor
Thanks for your help and support!

(P.S) I will get to building the area after I get about three votes or so for one side |
