Well, I've been an insomniac for years, so maybe I can help.
Stay off/turn off any electronics, for they occupy your mind and will wake you up more the moment you look at them.
Turn off any lights. For some reason, in a dark room, you sleep better.
Milk makes people tired.
Make sure it's quiet.
I usually use a herbal sleep aid, like melatonin or valerian root. |

"Stay off/turn off any electronics, for they occupy your mind and will wake you up more the moment you look at them."
I've been lying in my bed without doing anything for the past 2 hours :(
"Turn off any lights. For some reason, in a dark room, you sleep better."
Other than the light coming from my tiny windows and this laptop there is none.
"Milk makes people tired."
I don't like milk.
"Make sure it's quiet."
It's as quiet as possible.
"I usually use a herbal sleep aid, like melatonin or valerian root."
I use melatonin, usually helps getting into sleep but I still awake very early. I also seem to have quite a lot of nightmares. |

Do you have insomnia and trouble falling to sleep regularly? It's usually a symptom of a different disorder. For instance, mine is caused by my depression.
If it continues, you can go to the doctor for it and they can prescribe you something. If all else fails, you can take straight benadryll an hour before bed. A heck of a lot stronger than melatonin but it works. |

Yes, I have been having sleeping problems for about 2 years, but usually I still get an OK night sleep and I don't wake up stupidly early like now. The problems have been becoming worse the last 2 weeks.

I get the feeling most people around me don't really take my problem seriously. My mother says it's not a big problem but I'm still worried. |

I have nightmares that usually stem from lag on Roblox, which may show that I play too much Roblox. Also, there is a meowing kitten interfering in my lag nightmares...

this is what helps me
step 1. lie in bed, nude, in undies or in clothes or pjs step 2. empty your mind step 3. think about stars and space, nothing else step 4. close your eyes ( everything before this helps relax ur body ) step 5. make sure ur room is dark and quiet step 6. there must be no distractions step 7. get in a comfortable postion to sleep step 8. rest there with your eyes closed step 9. if you open your eyes in maybe 10 minutes and it feels like there trying to close thereselfs, good job, close your eyes again and you will probably sleep step 9.1. if you have an interesting book, read it, it will also help
if all these steps fail, take sleep pills or something |

Has anything happened that could be bothering you the last two weeks, or did this just happen at random? Do you have any other already diagnosed disorders?

It probably isn't that big of a problem, but if it still affects you and if it's getting worse, it'll still do you some good to go to a doctor. You can always try and sit down with your mom and have an adult conversation with her. For example, "Mom, I know it may not seem like a big deal, but my sleeping pattern has really been bothering me, it's getting worse and I'm worried. It would really make me feel better to see a doctor about it." |

A really important one that always works in this kind of situation for me.
GET OFF OT, SHUT DOWN YOUR DEVICE, CLOSE YOUR EYES, AND SLEEP!
Works every time.
