No kidding
If you think I'm just being ignorant, go ask the critics. Rolling Stone said it was the 9th greatest song of all time |

"In 2002, NME awarded the song the number two spot on its list of "100 Greatest Singles of All Time",[39] while in 2003 VH1 placed "Smells Like Teen Spirit" number one on its list of "100 Greatest Songs of the Past 25 Years".[40] The song came third in a Q poll that same year.[41] Rolling Stone ranked "Smells Like Teen Spirit" ninth in its 2004 list of "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time", and described its impact as "A shock wave of big-amp purity, [it] wiped the lingering jive of the Eighties off the pop map overnight."" Some more acclaim |

I hope you realize that music awards are usually about popularity. |

They're all still popularity contests.
SLTS isn't a bad song at all, but it's nowhere near that great, and hell even Nirvana has better. |

| Well, I think it is, and I don't think that RS cared about popular opinion when they made that list, especially in the top ten. |

Like a Rolling Stone is okay enough but
Imagine Respect Good Vibrations Johnny B Goode Hey Jude
I mean they're mostly good songs, but let's face it, they wouldn't be there if they were hugely popular. |

Well, if that's what you think, no point in trying to argue
So, what's your favorite artist of the 90s? |

a band that comes to my mind is Cake
Dream Theater also released some amazing albums in the 90s, though they're from the 80s |
