>"what's funny is that firefox is factually superior to chrome"
Go visit the game I'm working on in both Firefox and Google Chrome: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/10434417/Scripts/JavaScript/rpg/play.html#key(3,6);door(5,1,false,true);space(0,0);wall(0,0,true,false);wall(0,0,true,true);wall(0,0,false,false);space(0,1);wall(0,1,true,false);wall(0,1,true,true);space(0,2);wall(0,2,true,false);wall(0,2,true,true);space(0,3);wall(0,3,true,false);wall(0,3,false,true);space(1,3);wall(1,3,false,true);wall(1,3,false,false);space(2,3);wall(2,3,false,true);wall(2,3,false,false);space(3,3);wall(3,3,false,false);space(3,4);wall(3,4,true,false);wall(3,4,true,true);space(3,5);wall(3,5,true,false);wall(3,5,true,true);space(4,3);wall(4,3,false,true);wall(4,3,false,false);space(5,3);wall(5,3,true,true);wall(5,3,false,true);space(5,2);wall(5,2,true,false);wall(5,2,true,true);space(5,0);wall(5,0,true,false);wall(5,0,true,true);space(5,-1);wall(5,-1,true,false);wall(5,-1,true,true);space(3,6);wall(3,6,true,false);wall(3,6,true,true);wall(3,6,false,true);space(5,1);wall(5,1,true,false);wall(5,1,true,true);stair(5,-2);wall(5,-2,true,false);wall(5,-2,true,true);wall(5,-2,false,false);
(yes, that whole thing's the URL) Please tell me which one runs faster. In Firefox, or Google Chrome.
I'll give you a hint: Chrome. Chrome can run this in 60FPS even on my slow-ass laptop, while Firefox can't even achieve half of that. |

>"why are you playing browser games anyways"
lol nice excuse. Firefox, and quite factually, does way less and what it does, is slower.
And why do people play Steam games? Because they like high-quality video games. Why would a person play a WebGL game? Because maybe they want to play a high-quality video game. And maybe they want to stream the game rather than have to download and install the entire thing.
WebGL games can produce just as good graphics as any downloadable game. If your browser cannot support WebGL at proper speeds (or if you're IE who has no WebGL support at all), then you are behind the times. |
